A few pages from one of my favorite Russ Heath comics. I asked him at a con about it. It was something of a new look for his art. He was using tons of solid black on this story, deploying unexpected textures, and his inkline was noticeably rougher and less controlled than usual. It looked great! How come he never went back to this style?
He flipped through the comic page by page. Then he held up his drawing hand. "Hurt my wrist. I couldn't get them to extend the deadline so I had to draw it while wearing a cast."
RIP Russ Heath.
