This had always been the sort of thing William had told himself he wouldn’t do - but then, he was doing a lot of things he thought he wouldn’t do lately. In comparison to some other choices, this seemed the most harmless. It was a betrayal of trust, to be sure, but something no one else needed to know.
He waited in the room as patiently as he could muster, though still couldn’t resist a quip when the door finally opened. “You said 10:00.” He set down the drink he had brought with him, standing to greet Daisy as she sauntered in. “Long day, I take it?”
