By no means was Alice a book person, in the sense that she rarely read books, even while at school. If she needed to learn something important, that’s when she would crack open the pages and dive in as best she could, but she learned much better through action. Without Professor instruction, however, the responsibility of learning new spells, hexes, and curses fell on Alice herself. There was only so much her friends could help her practice with in the spare time of their hectic schedules, so here she was, seeking out text in Flourish and Blotts. Walking down the isles, her fingers dragged over the spines as she read the titles. How was she supposed to know which one was best? She should be heading back to Hogwarts soon, or they at least should have let her just join the Auror program. Now she was stuck in limbo, waiting for a seventh year that felt like it would never come. “It’s weird, this place should be packed with students looking for their course books.” She mused to the person next to her in the otherwise mostly empty store.
