When Dean and Cas finally get their heads out their asses, domesticity ensues.
This is long overdue for @vylhunter. Enjoy your AU destiel.
Cas' favourite season was summer. The coffee shop he worked in had a habit of getting a little too warm to be completely comfortable. The throngs of people coming in for iced drinks didn't make him smile and long hours and extra days made him want to quit. But Cas put up with all of it for the view the counter gave him of the garage across the road from them.
Dean Winchester.
Cas smiled as he watched the mechanic work under the hood of another car, the wife beater showing off the way his muscles moved and worked under the glaring sun. For once they had an unusually quiet period and Cas took every second to stare over at the grease covered man across the street.
“You're drooling,” Gabriel mumbled from behind him.
Cas started and turned with a glare at his brother. “No I'm not.”
Gabriel raised a brow with a smirk and rolled his eyes. “Just ask him already.”
Cas turned his eyes back to the window and back to the view of Dean. A couple of women walked past, their heads turned towards Dean and Cas watched dejectedly as Dean followed them with his eyes and a smirk. “Yeah, I don't think I'm his type.”
“Have you asked him?”
“No but-”
“Have you even seen him make out with somebody?”
“No,” Cas frowned, “but I-”
“Cassie, please, put us out of our misery and just ask him.”
Cas glared at his brother and flicked his eyes to Meg and Balthazar, who were both doing their best to avoid his gaze with a small smile of their own. “I can do or not do whatever I want,” Cas mumbled defiantly before he turned back to the counter to serve the next customer they had for the day.
The next two hours were a blur of smiles, drinks, thanks and jokes from his friends. It was hectic and Cas finished his current customer and turned to the next one. His smile doubled when he spotted Dean standing in front of him, a wide grin of his own on his face as he slid an All Day Breakfast sandwich across the counter. “Hey, Cas.” He'd pulled on a flannel shirt but Cas could still see grease and oil stains covering his wife beater and fingers.
“Hello, Dean,” Cas answered back with a warm smile, “Your usual?”
“You bet,” and Dean winked at him with a grin before he stepped out of the way to let an old lady pass him to be served by Meg. Cas turned his back to put the sandwich on the grill and to start making the drink, coffee, black, to take out.
“Watch your backs!” Balthazar called and Cas pressed himself against the counter as Balthazar passed by him to put clean cups back up onto the shelves. He patted Cas' shoulder and dropped a pen in front of him. Cas turned and glared at his friend, who walked away without a second look.
“I always forget how busy you guys get,” Dean said and Cas turned to see him looking around the small café with a raised brow.
Cas shrugged and grabbed a take out bag, “It's the summer. People come in for the iced drinks.”
Dean's head turned towards the fridge and he nodded his head. “They do sound nice.”
Cas let out a laugh and finished the coffee. He spotted the pen Balthazar had dropped for him and he bit his lip before he decided to take the plunge. He grabbed it and quickly scrawled his number on the side of Dean's cup before he turned and handed it to him, the number facing Cas. He felt his hands shake a little before he rung the order through the till. “You should try them, surprisingly nice.”
“Surprisingly?” Dean echoed with a grin as he handed over his money.
Cas shrugged lightly and ducked his head. “Banana and caramel?”
Dean pulled a face at that and accepted the change. “Ew. Banana?”
“Yeah, it's strangely popular,” Cas turned back and grabbed the sandwich from the grill before he placed it in the bag, turned and handed it back to Dean.
Dean shook his head and said, “Thanks. You guys are open til 7 right?”
Cas nodded, “Of course.”
Dean smiled and waved his hand as he started to head towards the door. “See you later.”
Cas watched him leave with a smile before he felt somebody grab his shoulders and squeeze them. “Did you do it?”
Cas sighed and turned his head to see Balthazar looking over his shoulder. “Yes.”
“Oh I'm so proud of you.”
Cas shrugged him off and turned to the next customer.

When Cas had gotten his break later on that day he'd searched frantically for his phone and couldn't help but feel deflated when he saw that he had no new messages. He'd stuffed it into his pocket for the rest of the day and that's where it sat for the rest of the day. He didn't feel it go off at all and as he watched the time near 7 he wondered if he'd made a mistake.
He started to wipe down the tables and pull the stock in the fridge forward, ready for the next day, when he heard the door go. He looked up to see Dean standing just inside, his hands in his pockets and his eyes looking around the shop. It was fairly empty and Cas couldn't help but to glance around at the two or three people that were finishing up their drinks. The only other person working that night was Gabriel and he was in the back, doing paperwork.
Cas flicked his eyes back to Dean and saw the mechanic staring at him. “Hey, Cas,” Dean started with a smile that wasn't quite right.
Cas swallowed nervously and smiled back, “Hello, Dean.” He glanced at the clock on the back wall. It was 6:58. “Long day?”
“Like you wouldn't believe.”
Cas nodded his head and moved back behind the counter and started to make Dean's drink. “Your usual?”
“Yeah,” Cas could hear something in Dean's voice that wasn't finished and glanced over his shoulder at him with a raised brow. Dean gave him another weird smile and settled his arms on the top of the counter. “Hey, erm, do you guys finish up at 7 too or?”
“Half past.”
“Oh.”
Cas was curious now. Dean was acting very un-Dean like. “Is everything okay?”
Dean straightened up and nodded his head with a small frown, “Yeah, no, yeah. Erm...”
Cas finished Dean's coffee and set it down in front of him. “Are you okay?”
Dean stared up at him and Cas couldn't stop looking worriedly down at him. Dean opened his mouth, seemed to start to say something before he stopped and licked his lips. After a moment he pointed a finger at Cas and in a quiet rush said, “Youwannagrabsomefoodwhenyou'redone?”
Cas stared at Dean as he tried to figure out what it was that he'd just said. “What?”
Was Dean blushing? Cas felt his heart flutter at the tinge to Dean's cheeks and felt his breathing start to race slightly. Dean's tongue darted out between his lips and Cas couldn't stop staring at Dean's lips. He had to force his eyes away as Dean started speaking again, “Do you, wanna grab some food once you're done? My treat?”
Cas couldn't stop the odd flicker of a smile to the corner of his lips and he leaned on the till as he said, “Is that your way of asking me to dinner?”
Dean stared up at him for a moment before he flashed a grin and leaned forward, “Is that your way of saying yes?”
Cas wanted to reach over the counter and kiss Dean there and then. Instead he nodded his head with a wide grin. “Yes. You can take a seat until we're done.”
“Awesome,” Dean breathed out and Cas watched him move to one of the cushioned couches they had and relax in the middle of it with a grin. Cas ducked his head as he worked, giddy with excitement.
Ten minutes into cleaning later and Gabriel came out, glancing over at Dean who waved at him before he glanced at Cas. He propped one arm on the counter and looked at Cas with a smirk. “What?”
“Nothing,” Gabriel said, “just that lover boy over there didn't pay for his drink.”
Cas stopped cleaning to stare at Gabe, both from the nickname and the fact. He glanced over at Dean who seemed focused on his phone and shrugged. “I think he's put enough money into our business to have a free drink.”
“Hmmm,” Gabe said before he pointed at Cas, “it sticks to drinks. He still has to pay for food.”
Cas stuck his tongue out to Gabe's back before he quickly finished up. Twenty minutes later and he pulled his coat on and stopped in front of Dean with a grin. “I'm ready.”
“Awesome,” Dean repeated as he stood up and led the way. “There's this roadhouse, still open this late, that serves the best cheeseburgers you've ever eaten.”
Cas raised a brow with a wide smile, “I do like cheeseburgers.”
Again, Dean's cheeks coloured and he scratched the back of his neck with a nervous laugh. “Yeah? Really? That's good.”
Casnarrowed his eyes and looked over Dean carefully. “Yeah, really.” Dean glanced at him, looked away and smiled to himself. “Gabe?”
Dean shrugged and cautiously eyed Cas. “During his lunch break.”
Cas ducked his head and chuckled to himself. “I'm not even mad.”
“Awesome,” Dean said again and Cas raised a brow with a grin. “Come on, I've wanted to do this for a long time.”
Cas would be lying if he said that that comment didn't warm his heart and he spent the entire night laughing, smiling and playing footsie with Dean underneath the table.
found this post today maybe you could write it... please <3 :I want this generic cheesy AU where Dean, Cas, and Sam are all in a room together, when suddenly the lights go out. And when said lights decide to spontaneously turn back on, Dean and Cas are making out and Sam is scarred for life.
Here you go honey ^^
Dean had an itch. A bad itch. It made him fidgety and he flicked his eyes carefully around Cas to eye Sam, who was half the cause of his fidgetyness. The other half was the angel next to him and he leaned back in his seat and looked back to the film they were all watching. Dean’s leg was pressed firmly against Cas’ cause Dean had hoped it would ease the irritation flying through him.
It only made it worse.
And he was damned close to just grabbing Cas by the tie and dragging him off to make out with him and do whatever the hell his body demanded. Usually he wouldn’t have a problem, unless Sam was there. All. The. Time.
Dean could barely remember the last time he’d been able to just grab Cas and hold him, alone, since they were busy with the angels still fighting upstairs and Abaddon and the demons down. Add into that a brother who wanted to spend any free time they got just hanging out and relaxing with one another and Dean was climbing the walls.
His leg bounced and his finger tapped quietly against the armrest of the couch they were all squashed onto. There was a brief flicker of Cas’ eyes to his leg, then his finger, before he focused back on the film and Dean ground his teeth together. Five minutes. Just five minutes, that’s all he wanted.
Cas’ leg nudged against Dean’s and he took the silent message to stop. He stared at Cas’ knee, willing him to do something to help Dean. When it was clear Cas wasn’t going to do anything, after two minutes of staring at his knee, Dean was almost ready to break.
He took a deep breath and turned his attention to the TV. He had no idea what was going on, and he couldn’t care less, but he hoped it would distract him. The distraction lasted five minutes before the TV, lights and everything else went black. Dean blinked a couple of times, a frown set deep into his features as he sat up a little straighter and yes, the power had gone out, and not for some supernatural reason.
Cas’ knee nudged gently against his and he turned his head in Cas’ direction. He could just about make a face out against the dark and it took a moment for his brain to think. Sam couldn’t see them. He grinned and reached forward, grabbed a handful of Cas’ shirt and dragged him over to Dean’s part of the couch to kiss him desperately and needily.
-------
Sam had been concentrating on the film, comfortable with just the three of them hanging out without the threat of the world ending hanging over their heads. He relaxed in his seat, legs stretched out in front of him and one arm on the arm rest, propping his head up.
It was just getting to the big climatic reveal when the lights went out and he stilled for a moment. When nothing jumped out at them he relaxed a little and sat up. “I think it’s a power cut,” he said as he stood up, “I’ll try and find us a torch.” His phone was on the other side of the room charging so all he had to go on was his outstretched arms and his feet shuffling along the floor until he bumped into the bed.
He’d managed to find his bag and his hands were rifling through clothes when the lights blinked back on. Sam winced for a moment, blinked his eyes open a couple of times and turned to look back ov-
“Oh my god,” he mumbled, his face screwed up in disgust.
Cas practically kneeling on the couch, one knee between Dean’s legs, whilst Dean’s hand was cupping his ass. There was a hand in Cas’ hair and from this angle Sam could see the way Dean’s hair was messed up and his clothes askew whilst the top three buttons on Cas’ shirt were open.
The other two people in the room froze, wide eyed and looked over at Sam. “Sammy,” Dean started with a tiny, embarrassed smile.
Sam held his hand up, waved his brothers words away as he just turned away and grabbed his phone. “I don’t, that, oh my god I need to scrub my mind, ugh.”
“Could’ve been worse,” Dean added with a smirk, Cas still positioned over him, “we could’ve been naked.”
When Dean's watching something on the TV he's usually stretched out, legs left untamed across the floor, one arm resting across the back of the couch, his body slouched and his other hand holding the remote in loose fingers.
When Dean's watching something in his stretched out, lazed position, Cas would usually sit in the middle of the couch, right next to him. Dean doesn't even bat an eye it's become that regular an occurance. He just flicks the channel until there's some old film being showed and slouches more until his thigh brushes up against Cas'. His arm never moves from its position, now behind Cas' head.
When Dean's watching something it always takes Cas a few minutes of shuffling around until he's comfortable, his leg pressed against Dean's. His head always leans that far enough back that he can feel the tickle of warm skin against the back of his neck and he settled then.
When Dean's watching something Sam usually does one of three things: research, join them, or grab some food then join them. Tonight, Sam's joining them and Dean refuses to move. Cas gets closer and Dean's hand only slips a few inches.
When Dean's watching TV with Cas and Sam he glues his eyes to the screen but let's his fingers wander. At first it's his thumb, stroking Cas' neck, then he edges in a couple of fingers before he goes back to just using his thumb. Every time his fingers touch Cas’ skin he feels Cas lean slightly further back.
When Dean's watching TV he feels the press of Cas' leg against his and he settles for that. It isn't much but it's enough for Dean to relax, happy and content with what he had next to him, even if they hadn't yet told anybody, especially if they were still keeping it a secret.
Dean was happy.
I want a spin off produced by HBO about Cas and what happens when he's not with the Winchesters but then we find out that most of the time, if he's not with Sam and Dean, it's just him and Dean sneaking around behind Sams back to fuck and Sam totally knows but let's it slide because it's cute how hot they think they're being when they're secretive
