Hiiii so I stumbled onto your blog and internet humans series and have subsequently been consumed by brainrot for it, so uh

As it is my nature every time I see a character going through the blender, I drew a little comic thing (that devolved into disjointed sketches) of your Human!AO3 during the DDoS attack haha

Something something as far as my research goes DDoS attacks work by overloading a server with a metric shit-ton of garbage requests from multiple attacking servers, something something the DDoSer in this universe creating massive hordes of homunculi that they can unleash into a server (which are physical places in this AU if I’m reading this right?), thus AO3 getting DDoSed was a metric shit-ton of homunculi World War Z-ing into the Archive and dragging AO3 all over the place to do nonsensical things like a toddler’s ragdoll in a daycare until they were able to force a server shutdown?

Hope this is cool haha, this idea grabbed me by the lapels and is currently holding me hostage so <3

Oh my god this is perfect????? Cause you're right, that's exactly what a DDOS attack is. It's a bunch of bots (or hacked user clients in some cases) overwhelming a server... This is so cool, thank you so much for making it! I love this so much AHDJCJEICJDNXN

Can you imagine how horrifying this would be tho? You are trapped with your archive, knowing the halls better than any, yet this thing is still gaining on you. It fills every hallway, squeezes itself through every bookshelf to grab at you and toss you around. No matter how far you run, this thing is always close behind. It's only after you shut down the servers, then you can collapse from your terror...

AO3 isn't alone in DDOS attacks tho! Internet Archive has also been a victim, specifically targeted because of content they've archived iirc. Tumblr was taken down in 2016. It's something all sites fear, I think, but not all have gone through it.

I'll adopt that as canon, 100%! (As long as you're okay with it of course!)

I never was the biggest fan of Ayee, just watched him since he archived so much and he seemed so passionate, especially with LBPonline. Mf shot my childhood in the alley way and once it died in the antoons hospital bed, he tried to revive it. If you were a fan of his, it’s okay, no one knew or could have seen this coming.

There’s plenty of other evidence and videos that show way more than this real quick one and are far more informative than I could ever be.

And even if you don’t care about the drama (for whatever reason) DO NOT TRUST LBPONLINE IF THAT GETS ACTUALLY CREATED! With now how shady everyone at the top of the production is, it could potentially do some damage.

What a DDoS Attack Looks Like

I'm working on my senior design project rn. We have datasets (I don't remember where they're from specifically) of real DDoS attacks that we're using in it.

Using the Google chart javascript api I plotted all the TCP sessions in the sample dataset. Yellow dots are benign and red are malicious. Cool as shit to look at so I thought some people would like to see it.

And I’m wondering- where’s the outcry? Where are the people ready to denounce the hackers who would target such a bastion of freedom of speech? Does anyone care?

Why would people leap to defend those in a foreign country, but not lend one scintilla of care to an organization devoted to free speech on the Internet?
