So this is some of the super cool programming & stuff we had during #ddwildthoughts - Pic 1: @thedreamdefenders principles, I tried to pair it as clear as possible but they are pretty interesting and inspiring values and community agreements Pic 2: this is a transformative justice workshop I went to that explored self-care as an activist, some really cool RJ stuff that was happening in nyc with the @audrelordeproject , the different between restorative justice and transformative justice, and different resources to learn the details of how to practice RJ & TJ Pic 3: a direct action training had us organize all the steps to preparing for an action- biggest take always are that there are lots of steps, the order depends on the action, know your goals and audience, and remember to celebrate! Pic 4: I went to a power mapping workshop with little sis (as in the opposite of big brother) - if you haven't heard of them you should totally check it out. I wasn't able to make it to their workshop at @alliedmediaconference last year so I'm glad I got to see this one. They highlighted how dope and inspirational SNCC's research crew was, which was extra cool because we had a member of SNCC there all weekend to tell us about their structure, great stories, and what we can learn from past movements. Y'all there was literally soooooo much more but I was really caught up in the moment lol. I got some great notes but didn't get to take too many photos (you know @mythematix is the photographer lol) I hope this gave you a peak into this amazing convening - check out the hashtag, there is so much more! Especially the incredible music peopled were making- we talk about how the singers like fanny Lou Hamer gave life to movements and I don't think I have experienced how much music and energize and inspire activism until this weekend- check out @nasjamone @sekajipo @arsimmermccoy @padre_legba you will thank me, they will change your life like they did mine. ✊🏾🙀💕 (at Fruitland Park, Florida)
