Huron beckons
Anticipating a trip northward later this month, I texted our Up-North plumber, Jake, this week and asked him to get our cottage de-winterized; it’s the first step in yet another grand reopening.
Jake will rouse the cottage from hibernation. He’ll prime he pump, turn on the gas, get the place oriented toward summer No. 32 on the shore of Lake Huron. We’ll take over from there, undoing, in a familiar choreograph, everything we did last November when we tucked it in.for the winter.
Surely it won’t feel like summer above the 45th Parallel. It probably won’t even feel like spring. But that won’t interfere at all with the reunion.
