I was replaying the Railroad questline and started giggling because I was picturing Deacon saying the the part where he says Sole put him on their back and continued fighting through the synths at the Switchboard to Desdemona except he's telling Des this story and Bunny, who is noticeably shorter / smaller than Deacon, is standing there like. Okay man I don't think she's buying All That but I appreciate the hype. What does Bunny's acceptance into the Railroad actually look in your mind? How does it play out?

OMG so flattered you were thinking of her…..he absolutely does that when they return tho, absolutely goes on and on about her heroics even tho she just. acted normally. sure as hell can’t pick him up but ok man. she knows what deacon’s doing tho, and she does appreciate the sentiment. she likes working w him.

her time starting out in the railroad is interesting. bunny is no stranger to having to prove herself, and there’s definitely plenty of familiar feelings that she has to experience all over again. i think part of why bunny never doubted deacon’s intentions from the start is bc of how sincerely he did have her back. deacon himself is admittedly a bit of an outcast within the railroad. they don’t necessarily doubt his abilities, but his methods and how he carries himself personally turns off pretty much everyone (which is purposeful on deacon’s part, he actively holds even ppl he cares about at arm’s length). but bunny sees hints of herself in that, and deacon—despite his jokes and fibs—has been genuinely kind to her.

desdemona is still the most skeptical of the group, and understandably so. with all the losses they’ve experienced up to this point, she’s hesitant abt new members (especially one endorsed by deacon, even if deep down she does respect his opinion. to an extent). so it definitely takes the most time for dez to truly believe bunny is capable and is working in the railroad’s best interests. admittedly, bunny isn’t afraid to go more dubious routes to get results, and that is part of why she and deacon make a fantastic team. in the end they really do become the railroad’s best agents.

all that said, bunny’s accepted pretty openly by tinker tom almost immediately, and by glory a lil later on. the former also being the closest person to deacon’s friend helps. drummer boy is decent enough, though he strikes me as the type not exactly looking for friends. similarly, carrington warms up to her eventually, even if he can be a bit dry. he definitely respects her.

i think what really wins over a majority of the group is just her showing how far she’s willing to go for them, how far she’s willing to go to get to the institute. how quickly she can spring into action when it comes to her goals. her drive is infectious. the thing abt bunny is that she can genuinely charm just abt anyone. her codename is charmer for a reason! and whether that charm is an act she’s putting on or it’s through her own authentic self, she’s still gonna work hard.
