Metric Dead Disco music video 2003 (x)
Apparently this band ISNT named after the metric song but they are awesome and underrated and I wish they were still together :(
Dead Disco 🪩 Metric
Metric “Dead Disco” (Official Video)
This song always makes me shake it, at least a lil.
This’ll be the final musical post from me for a few weeks and I’ve decided to choose another tune from Metric, my very favorite Canadian band. Usually, I’d try to provide a bio or summary of their catalog, but I’ve already done that a few months back for this act, so I’ll just mention that this is Dead Disco from the 2003 album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? I considered choosing a holiday or New Year’s tune, but really, I think this track represents well the kind of motif I’m trying to build with the musical palate on this page. I try to stay away from acts that are too popular and put a significant focus on work from unheard of or unusual acts that make tunes just as/even more epic than whatever you hear on Top-40’s radio. I feel like too many people these days passably accept very generic mainstream faire with absolutely no balls. Smash play if you want the exact opposite.
When I come back to Tumblr next February, I’ll definitely continue the tradition of posting music from Soundcloud. Every now and then I post tunes that are just about as well received as a cancer diagnosis, but I do make it my mission to bring rare auditory gems to Tumblr with a quick bit of commentary on why you should listen. If this schtick gets stale, maybe I’ll try entire months dedicated to music of the 80’s or 90’s (eras of music), or even try streaming music vids from YouTube to switch up the theme in places. Thanks everyone who comes to my page for a little audio stimulation. It is true that people learn to communicate and even love through music, and its why I’ve posted unique audio works on my page for over a year. If you have any suggestions for how I could change my regular music posts, I do always listen to constructive criticism. While I’m gone from Tumblr, feel free to access my archives and peruse the MANY songs I have added to this platform. I think we can all agree, music brings people together, so thanks for tuning in to my personal ‘rotation’, dear listener. Happy New Year!
