4/4/26.
Range Rats. Great name - certainly a play off of The Rats, one of the innumerable/less famous groups fronted by Fred and Toody Cole during their glorious run as garage rock royalty. Range Rats is Fred and Toody's "lost country LP". Country with all the cowpunk/punk/attitude and sneer that most country lacks.
Mississippi Records reissued this 1986 gem back in 2010, again in 2018 and it looks like 2026.
All are original compositions, and all are played with a full band except the two that have a "janky" drum machine.
Dead Moon and Pierced Arrows are probably Fred and Toody's most well known bands. They were based in Portland, Oregon for most of their careers. Mississippi Records was founded in Portland. It's Bandcamp page says New York, New York. I'm not sure where HQ currently is.
