Oh so I have some fun fish for you!
This is the red hand fish a species of angler fish that is endangered because they don’t move from where’re they hatch! They sorta just stay there unless a current comes by. iirc there only found in two small reefs that conservationists are trying to breed between to introduce more genetic diversity
Next: the frilled shark one of my favorite species of shark we know very little about. They’re deep seas sharks so if you ever saw one in person it means either you’re dead or it will be very soon as it can’t survive in such low pressures and you can’t survive such high pressures. I think they’re cute though
Speaking of sharks, did you know there’s a shark that can walk? The epaulette shark! Or at least they can sort of walk. they can survive two hours in open air without ill effect and if the tides stay low longer than that they can pull and wiggle themselves back into the ocean with specilized pectoral fins.
Another fish with a strange adaptation is the crocodile icefish. Their blood is clear! No hemoglobin to make their blood red in sight, like me, you or any other adult vertebrae animals. The way they can survive is because the freezing cold water in Antarctica where they live is extremely oxygenated compared other areas and their slow metabolism.

I think the best way to handle writing an overpowered to the point of apathy character to get them to reasonably engage with the plot is to give them someone they care about sooooo much.
Why would you worry about the museum heist down the street? If they bother you they’re dead, simple.
Except your best friend is the area’s main hero and asked for your help because their sidekick is out sick and you care about them too much to go against their image of not killing so your stuck just helping knocking them out.
Why would you help the person bleeding out in the alleyway? It’s not you’re fault they got themselves in that situation.
But your young child who has the most convincing puppy dog eyes and an unfortunate heart of gold would be sad if the two of you just continued on with your day without at least getting them to a hospital.
Why would you care about a random coffee shop getting robbed? There’s one practically on every street corner.
Except they make the best coffee by far and pretty cheaply too. And the barista at the counter always makes your drink a size bigger than ordered and lets you take any overstocked pastries at the end of the night when you stop by after running errands. And the next closest shop would never compare.
Normally you’d just sit and watch others handle the world ending threat, maybe with some popcorn.
But now you have people you care about and unfortunately they also live in this world.
