June 2016
We kicked off the month with a networking event in the cove in association with the Sussex Film Office. Great to welcome other industry professionals into the cove for a chat and to show the many uses of our studio. There is a wealth of talent in the South and with access often being easier than trying to travel across London, we are seeing more and more big companies using studios outside of the city. Guests of honour included Cora and her associated prosthetics from The Hallow movie.
One of our regular clients, GForces, brought the new Mazda MX5 RF model into the studio for a top secret shoot ahead of full production. This is a stunning car, can’t wait to see them out and about on the roads in 2017. We can’t unfortunately share any images of the vehicle itself but here’s one of Rupert in full photography mode on the shoot.
The Aston Man was back with a new run of cars throughout June and July and this Virage was the first to come into the studio. Each of these Astons are unique and all present their challenges due to their handmade nature!
Cars complete for the month we moved onto the music sessions again.
We’d had Colour of Noise in to film their single ‘Can you hear me’ back in February and we could see the potential for some really special unplugged style sessions. Bruce and Matt came in as a two piece rather than the whole band and we settled in to a three song ‘stripped back’ afternoon of recording and filming using the incredible acoustic of the infinity cove. Bruce’s playing of his twelve string Danelectro and Matt’s bluesy rock vocal sound incredible together and the results and response to the individual songs (’Head on’, ‘Medicine Man’ and ‘Can’t take it with you’) has been fantastic. You can find them via the Colour of Noise pages on YouTube and Facebook.
Next music session in was with punk band Deadlock. This again was another test for the Presonus kit. We brought in some youngsters for a bit of work experience and the shoot went smoothly :-D
