Cora played with the silver fan, opening it and shutting it in her hands. Idle chatter filled the room around her, villains gleefully celebrating Maleficent’s victory. For a fairy who claimed not to like parties, she sure seemed to throw them a lot. Then again, she also liked to use them to get rid of those who resisted her rule. And Cora was one of the...fortunate...few who got the job to help her with that. Her job was both terrifying and interesting. Interesting in that everyone pretended not to know that she was an assassin- despite the fact that their continuous stares at the red-gowned girl showed they all knew who she was -and terrifying in that she sometimes had long, detailed conversations with people, smiling, telling them how wonderful they were, expressing her interest... ...and ignored their pleas for mercy as she murdered them later.
At least I tell them the charges before they die, Cora reasoned with herself, That’s more than Mother usually does.
Finally, her gaze fell on one of tonight’s targets: Claude Frollo. The former Parisian judge, known for his own (attempted) murder of the gypsy Esmeralda and hunchback Quasimodo, had long been vocal in his support of Maleficent. Yet recently, there had been rumors he’d also been vocal in starting a rebellion. And Maleficent just couldn’t have that. Cora excused herself from her conversation, beginning to make her way over to Frollo, when she spotted two very familiar figures heading in the same direction.
