Destroying Angel - Amanita bisporigera
A pair of late summer Destroying Angels in the shadow of an oak tree
It's been the first crisp day after a heat wave: great for walking, less great for mushrooms. I was hoping for black trumpets and chanterelles and found these deadly poisonous beauties instead.
Destroying Angel - Amanita bisporigera
The first time I tried to take a spore print of one of these angels, the mushroom liquified into a pool of maggots. I thought that was very appropriately metal (and sexy) of this mushroom, and that this possibly indicated that I was living inside a horror movie, and this was the point where the audience was screaming at me to "get rid of the fucking mushrooms, IDIOT."
So, I only let this mushroom sit for two hours and here we are: faint, but lovely white print.
