surprisingly... it isn't difficult to discern who she is. by face alone, they recognize her almost instantaneously. her picture is kept on the bedside table of the bedroom they share with Sett; her photograph often inspires a softer smile Solstice sees only when Sett gazes upon her.
but her presence brings to light an uncomfortable realization of the conversation they'd just been having with one of the fighters in Sett's pit. a burly, hardy man who'd heard everything by sheer accident and been... well. curious. now it appeared that she might've heard the news accidentally as well, and Solstice can feel the tension seize their limbs with a mixture of shock and uncertainty.
❝ ahm... u-um. you... you didn't hear what i said, right? ❞ that they were pregnant and Sett happened to be the culprit for that. gosh, what was she even doing in the outskirts of the city like this anyway? for that matter, what wass Solstice even doing in the outskirts? they had no place questioning her choices were their own were nothing to turn your nose up at. ❝ gods... oh gods. i... i don't think sett's told you yet, has he? ❞ oh boy, here we go.
A gentle smile that seems as if a permanent fixture on her face graces the woman's features accompanying a low hum. ever the observant woman she had feeling something was amiss and thus her stroll brought her to the outskirts in search of what this odd feeling brought about. such a feeling as the ones she had each day she'd greet her son in his youth with new injuries she would clean and bandage up. thus a short stroll turned into a long one that found her way here. all was following feeling and the low mumblings of words she'd catch here and there. a mother would pretend to not catch things not brought her way but she wasn't one to shy away from noting something off.
the figure before her with the seemingly skittish presence earned a slight tilt of her head yet her smile remained. she allowed them to speak as she waited for those words to be spoken. even the tone and pauses gave sign that this was what brought her here. she did her best to hide a small chuckle that wished to break past her lips. it was quite adorable to wait and listen. reminiscent of her son in his younger years, heri waited a moment to compose herself before she extended a hand ever so gently, making certain to be wary of her claws, and giving the other a gentle pat on the arm as if for reassurance.
" breathe, my dear. you speak as if i'm about to eat you whole. " there came the hearty chuckle. she paused once more to give a look up and down before warming her expression a tad more, smile growing wider and eyes softening much more. " settrigh hasn't told me what? take your time, my dear. is my son in trouble? did he do something to you? "
