❛ can you hold my gun for a second? ❜
’ ah -- yeah sure. ‘ implications of the inquired are lost on star-stained boy for a moment, hand plucked delicately from his side in waiting until dawning realization comes in the form of raised brow and blinking eyes. ‘ wait -- g-gun? ‘

❝ ‘ ✧ it’s different for someone who has the weakness of dying from severed limbs. ‘ Hisao stared at the robot in front of them, joint practice with first years was a new addition to their curriculum, just to see how one would act with sidekicks. Hisao who usually worked alone was having quite a lot of difficulties.
“Alright, fine, okay,” Tokoyami sighed, calling forth the biggest amount of Dark Shadow he could- smaller than he wanted due to the lighting- making it kind of look like he had dark wings. “You attack it head-on to distract him, and I’ll sneak around to its flank and attack from there.” He looked around with a scrutinous gaze, noting the darkness that was a little bit behind the robot. “If you could lead him into the shadow of the buildings, my powers will be heightened.”
Well, not necessarily my powers, but close enough.

Tokoyami couldn’t help but groan. Once more, he decided to feed Dark Shadow to figure out how it would react, and once more the plates came crashing down on the ground. It’s not that it didn’t like the food- it loved it- but through all of its happiness, it began to move its head around erratically and swept the plate off of the table and onto the floor.
“Couldn’t you go one day of food without breaking anything...?” He grumbled, beginning to pick up the pieces of plate that were shattered at his feet. Why had he decided to try again at school? Luckily, no one was watching.
Suddenly, when he had collected them all begrudgingly and placed them onto the table, a figure approached him and set his hand on the plate. Tokoyami looked up at the man at the end of the arm in surprise as Dark Shadow growled at him with distrust. Tokoyami was about to ask what the student was doing when he looked back down and saw that the plate was back to its original composition. “You...?” Words blundered out of Tokoyami’s mouth in surprise, and he looked back up at the student with what felt like... approval? Awe?
“Who are you?”
