Omg your voltron family au is so cute ! Can we send promps ? If so , I really want to hear about Pidge being a daddy's girl with shiro, being super clingy and adorable and keith being protective. Would keith be sad about being given less attention from pidge ? I haven't read much about her interactions with Keith much.
[The Voltron Family] It was frustrating. Keith was frustrated. He thought having kids with Shiro would be fun and easy. He was good with his cousins and the little ones in his family tree back in Japan, so he thought it’ll be the same when he had ones of his own. It wasn’t.
Keith was cleaning the kitchen when he heard little footsteps approaching.
Pidge: Daddy Shiro—Keith: *turns around to see Pidge* *smiles* Hey, baby girl.Pidge: Oh. You’re not Daddy Shiro.Keith: *smile falters* *notices her holding a colouring book* You colouring?Pidge: *nods* *looks around* Uh-huh. I want Daddy Shiro to colour with me.Keith: He’s a bit busy in his clinic at the moment. But… *bites his lip* I… I could colour with you. If… if you want. I’m free. *smiles hesitantly*Pidge: *stares at him* It’s okay. I’ll just wait for him. *turns around to leave*
Keith tried to stop himself from letting out a frustrated sigh. He took a sit in the dinning table and just stared off into space. What was he doing wrong? Was he just unlikeable by default?
He resumed his cleaning and when he was done, he walked out to move on to the living room only to see Shiro and Pidge colouring happily. Pidge would laugh at how messy Shiro would colour and Shiro would just kiss her which makes her laugh. They were such a picturesque father and daughter.
Pidge was really attached to Shiro and would always just seek out for him, never really needing Keith for anything. He hoped Pidge wasn’t doing it on purpose but he honestly felt like Pidge only acknowledged Shiro as her Dad and Keith was just a live-in helper who did the cleaning and cooking. He knew that was far from truth, Shiro was his husband, but it sure damn felt like it when two out of three of his adopted kids blatantly just ignored him.
Sometimes, Keith felt like parenthood wasn’t meant for him. Shiro always knew when something bothered Keith.
Shiro: Hey, something wrong, love? *nudges Keith*Keith: *startles* *smiles upon seeing it’s just Shiro* It’s nothing. Go back to colouring, Shirogane. I think I’ll just head back to our room to rest.Shiro: Alright. I’ll cook dinner and call you when it’s ready.
Keith lied. He went straight to their study room in the third floor and began working on a manuscript he was supposed to do next week. He needed a distraction. He felt ridiculous sulking. God, he was an adult. He didn’t have the right to be jealous of the kids being so taken with Shiro because he, too, was taken by him so it was only expected the little ones would favour him more.
He lost track of time when he heard the door open and came in little Pidge. She didn’t say a single word. She just made a beeline to where Keith sat, climbed on his lap, took his hands and wrapped it around her little tummy as she leaned back on Keith’s chest. To say Keith was shocked was probably the understatement of the century.
Pidge: *pouts* Daddy Shiro sucks at telling me stories. Hunk told me you read him stories with different voices. Is that true? *looks up at Keith*Keith: Uh, yes. Yes, I do.Pidge: *beams* *squeezes Keith’s hand* Can you tell me one? Do you have a storybook with a princess and an alien?Keith: *blinks* *still in shock* I do, yes. *turns them both around in his swivel chair* I got one just right here actually. *gets a book from his shelf*
Outside of the study room, Shiro was standing by the wall, arms crossed over his chest, listening to Keith and Pidge. He smiled as he heard Pidge giggle in delight when Keith’s voice changed for the alien. He straightened himself thinking he should leave them both and get started on cooking their dinner.
