know what irritates me 

having handicap or disability fics featuring blind or deaf people 

insult enough to call it flat out something that takes away from your life

but then to have each one center around the other person's friend or lover "saving them from their disease"

or finding some magical device that doesnt make them unable to see or hear anymore 

thats just flat out telling people they cant be blind or deaf and be considered a real person 

and the device those who are Deaf in the fic get to hear again with - not accurate

not full hearing is restored unless its an au and magic happens 

you dont go from being profoundly Deaf to hearing 

and the devices usED ARENT EVEN COCHLEARS

hawkeye fans seem to deal with clint being Deaf as if it didnt affect him at all - oh yeah it DOESNT

dont treat it like they need to be fixed.
