Deaf vs Hearing parties
When you are Deaf/HOH or deaf however you identify yourself you have preferences about what parties you like more and how you deal with them. Communications become different as same with cultural differences.
Hearing parties:
low lighting, too many people, people get annoyed with me whenever i ask “again please” ether they will say “its not important” or “i’ll tell you later” irritating. Hearing people do have a mixed importance towards music or ether talking with their mouths...I am about 60 percent ok at lip reading but it is a lot of guess work. Lipreading is not a superpower and not all Deaf /HOH can. personally i usually get too tired of trying to understand and say i’m leaving about 10 or 11 at the latest.
Deaf parties:
Bright lighting at least 30 people depends where its held to be honest. Main source of communication is Sign language our Sign language is New Zealand Sign language. so to see to hear environment yes we may have music on but it doesn't affect us Deaf likes to feel the bass to listen sometimes so its up REALLY REALLY loud to have that party feel. We sit in circles so we can see each other there is no miscommunication unless you don’t know sign language if so there could be some one to interpret.
I truly prefer Deaf parties because i am Deaf. Its fun and incisive. People at Deaf parties have more empathy and will seem like big family at the end of the night. pretty much because I know i will see these people again at Deaf club ect so its never fully goodbye. While at hearing parties...eh difficult........
