Fanfic isn't enough. I need to sit in the back seat of the impala as Dean plays 'all you had to do was stay' for Cas on repeat for an hour. And you could cut the air with a knife but neither of them utters a word about it, until Cas finally says something like "yeah, that's a good song, have you heard this one?" and puts 'say don't go' also on repeat for another hour. and again. Neither says a fucking thing.
