Currently both Winchester boys and [Y/N] were sitting in a dingy motel room practically pulling at straws at who the witch they were hunting could be. Both [Y/N] and Dean were split on who it could be with Sam playing the middleman. Both [Y/N] and Dean could be stubborn with their own ideas on cases but always ended up compromising, today though was another story. Dean was dead set on the witch being the long, white haired, angry store owner whom they interviewed earlier on in the day, she technically was the perfect candidate. She had both the look and the attitude of the Witch they were hunting along with her working in an old antique store to Dean this looked like an easy hunt, however [Y/N] had her eyes set on another target, it was a bit out there but there was a feeling that she couldn’t shake.
To [Y/N] the witch was the 30 year old male janitor at the police station, to her she couldn’t shake the fact that every kill that had happened took place a few hours after every police interview to which the janitor was in ear shot every time was too much to ignore. But to Dean [Y/N] was acting too paranoid and was refusing to entertain the possibility that it could be possible. Dean loved [Y/N] more than he could put into words however he often let his hardheadedness get too far.
“Why will you not even entertain the fact that it could be him, do you not trust my judgement?” [Y/N] snapped, they have never argued this much, not in the 5 years that the two have been together. “In this moment no [Y/N] i don’t, why can’t you just let this be an easy hunt for once?” he snapped back. In that moment [Y/N] decided that she would just prove dean wrong and do it herself. A decision that could either prove to Dean just how capable she is, or a mistake that could cost her.
“Fine Dean I will just have to prove you wrong then” and with that said [Y/N] stormed out of the motel, slamming the door behind her, leaving Sam and Dean inside.
“C’mon Dean could you not even entertain the idea that the witch is not who you think it is?” Sam asked, feeling guilty that [Y/N] had gone off on her own, worried that because of Dean’s stubbornness she could get into a very bad situation or potentially injured. “Really Sam you too?” At this point with [Y/N] being out there alone the possibility that he could be wrong and he just let his girlfriend go to kill the witch alone has made his blood start to run cold and his mind clear the possibility that he could be wrong.
Dean started to look at all the facts more clearly now, yes the woman at the antique store fit the witch’s profile in both her looks and attitude but the more he started to think about it the more the janitor was starting to look like the witch. All the people killed were customers at the antique store however through further investigation on Sam’s part they were all connected to people who worked at the Police station. With this new fact coming to light both Sam and Dean sprung into action racing into the Impala and hoping to god that they got there in time before [Y/N] could potentially be in danger.
As [Y/N] left the motel she had only one thing on her mind and that was to prove Dean wrong. No matter how hard headed he could be [Y/N] would always love him but she just wanted him to acknowledge that she was just as much as a capable hunter as he is.
As [Y/N] approached the police station she took extra care to make sure she didn’t let the witch know she was there, the last thing she wanted was to tip the witch off and get herself captured, or worse killed. The only weapon she had on hand was her knife, not much but enough if she could catch him off guard. As she rounded the corner into the main area of the precinct she spotted the witch in one of the conference rooms on the right. For a moment she let doubt run through her with the knife gripped in her hand as she slowly stalked towards the room. ‘What if i'm wrong?, what if Dean was right and i'm about to kill an innocent person?’ she wondered, the thing [Y/N] feared most in being a hunter is getting things wrong and innocent people getting hurt. She was seriously doubting herself as she got closer, however all of this disappeared as soon as she spotted the janitor mixing ingredients to make a spell with the wife of one of the police officers being tied up, bloody in front of him. He was the witch. She was right.
That’s all the confirmation she needed as she stalked closer, she couldn’t let him know that she was there, she only had one chance at this and she couldn’t fail. As she slowly approached behind him, knife helped up ready to strike she made eye contact with the woman tied up, the fear in her eyes gave [Y/N] all the permission she needed in this moment as she brought the knife down stabbing into the unsuspecting witch, killing him and dropping him onto the floor. [Y/N] then made a move to start untying the woman in front of her who was sobbing uncontrollably while thanking [Y/N] for saving her.
Moments later both Sam and Dead busted through the door guns and knives held high ready to fight. Upon seeing the dead witch on the floor and [Y/N] and the woman she saved in front of them Dean sprung forward engulfing [Y/N] in his arms apologising profusely. “I am so sorry sweetheart, I should never have doubted you, I regretted it all the moment you left the motel” [Y/N] has never heard Dean sound so sorry in the whole time she had known him, only then realising just how worried he had been. “I will never doubt you again, I mean look at all this, Killing a witch and saving a hostage, iv never been so sorry and so proud of you” hearing this brought tears to her eyes, this whole time all she wanted was to prove to Dean just how capable she was, and now he knew and he would never doubt her again.
