@tomhardysteeth  Man it’s wild to see your old almost-forgotten deancas post on our dash.  At first I was mad.  But after reading your blog, then I was sad.  You had such a hard time in the “SPN fandom” that you left your main blog, but how could that be when we’re still having a lot of fun in the SPN fandom and we met so many nice people, online and in real life?  Thinking about it some more, I think it’s because we’re Sam fans and the least toxic (and the biggest) fandom.  Most of the hate we experience came from the Destiel fandom, they are the most vocal Sam haters (x), whom fortunately are the smallest fandom within the SPN fandom (according to their own census).  So we checked your current blog and you wrote that the “SPN fandom hates Sam”, when no, it’s mostly the Destiel fandom that hates Sam.  Now I understand why you find the “SPN fandom” so toxic, it was actually the Destiel fandom you found toxic.  Destiel/Cockle fandom is so small that it kept feeding it’s own toxicity on itself.  Its a vicious loop.  I hope you are doing better and you’re kinder to yourself and everyone else.  Take care.

CHAPTER TWO

Pressures of competition, getting along with his fellow designers, and being filmed 24/7 are one kind of torture. But nothing compares to his horror when he realizes his growing crush on model, Castiel. The cameras don’t pick up on that stuff, right?

By the time the driver has loaded Dean's stuff into the trunk of a sedan, Dean doesn't know if he wants to cry or just get very, very drunk. Everything's closed in on him—the people, the humidity—like sealing the lid on a Tupperware container, and he can't even find a private corner to have a panic attack in peace. Not even the car comes with solitude. A second passenger sits next to him in the back, already buckled in by the time Dean opens the door.

She looks like a young punk, not more than high school age. Ripped skinny jeans and black boots and one side of her long, blonde hair shaved off. She can't be old enough to drive, let alone old enough to appear on reality shows.

"Um. Yeah?" she challenges after a few minutes of Dean staring, with enough attitude to make the most hardened New Yorker blanch.

"Nothing," Dean says, embarrassed at being caught. He snaps his head to look straight in front of him. "I was just wondering if your sixth period math class is missing you."

"I'm twenty," so-totally-not-a-teenager sneers. "Maybe you should get your bifocals checked, grandpa."

With his thumb, he nudges the wire-frames self-consciously up his nose. "Hey. Airplanes are really freaking dry, okay? Glasses are better for your eyes. And they're regular prescription lenses, FYI."

Brat punk snorts. "FYI, the 90s called and want their slang back. And the only thing you're going to be seeing through them is me kicking your ass once the competition starts."

Strangely, that's one of the most comforting things someone could say to him in this moment.

so if you guys didn’t know, @deancasheadcanons has this wonderful fic called kvetch, a college au based on the university she went to, which i now go to. i found this fic a few weeks ago for the first time, after being a big fan of madd’s works for like at least a year. if you’ve read the fic you’ll know that dean works at the school newspaper, and dean and cas meet (sorta) through the ‘kvetching board’, a column specific to our paper. turns out, i have a good friend who also works at the school newspaper, and used to watch supernatural, and reads/writes fanfiction, so i sent her the link to the fic. we were both kinda freaking out, cuz like, apparently the setup of the rooms is the same or whatever, which isn’t that weird because like, madd /did/ work there, but it was kinda weird because oh my gosh internet is merging into real life where did that line between fanfiction and reality go??

anyways, yesterday someone handed me the paper and told me to look at the kvetches. i didn’t really think anything of it, tbh i thought it would be like a meme or something, but i open it up and the one at the very top was directed at ME. 

after a little bit of sleuthing (ok it didn’t take a lot of sleuthing), i figured out that the person who submitted the kvetch was the friend who i shared the fic with because newspaper. who probably didn’t even have to /submit/ the kvetch because like, she works there. and it’s based on a fic i shared with her and god it’s so cute.

so i guess we’re gonna go on a date now? all thanks to destiel fanfiction. follow your dreams, kids. #thanks madd
