Klaus as The Devil because: Base human-animal instincts and desires overpowering reason. The addiction card. Seems uncontrollable but really isn’t. Self-harm that is avoidable, or a bad situation you have the power to escape and recover from. Klaus is shackled to the Devil with chains so loose he could easily slip them off. Unlike ropes tied by Diego. But he has to want to, and then bother to actually do it. Sobriety is overrated, Hell is breathy on the bits, and the Devil is a-ok with him walking around naked down there, so maybe he’ll stay awhile.
Reggie as The Hierophant because: He is rigid canonical learning embodied. One who, devoid of emotion, holds all the facts. Shares only the teachings he wants you to know. Accepted wisdom. As in, he expects you to accept his wisdom. Likes uniforms. And hats.
Allison as The Lovers because: The “be careful what you wish for” card, and also the “unwise choice of lover” card. She married the wrong guy. Choosing a potentially unsuitable mate based on unstable reasoning and folly, leading to regret on both parties’ sides. Hasty decisions based on poor impulse control. (2 of cups is the romantic true love card, not The Lovers.)
