how come dany and the starks are going to be enemies when there’s no mention of a wolf “ enemy “ in every dany’s dreams or quaithe’s prophecies 😂😂 it’s true when they say sansa fans don’t read the books
Thank you, dearest. This is so exciting! I've finally made it as a Sansa fan! What was it that pushed you over the edge? Was it me saying that she's going to burn Winterfell? Or that Arya might be the one to kill her? Or that Jon will be her treason for love? There's quite a few, I wouldn't know which to pick! And many more to come, I promise that!
Now I've just gotta get hate about Jonsa. Got anything on that front for me? Come on, don't be shy!
Anyway, yeah, I guess you're right, there's no mention of wolves in her oh so important dreams. And like she screamed in s2 of GoT, in a way that did not at all make thousands of people instantly label her as insufferable, her dreams come true.
Look at her, sleeping so sweetly. I wonder what she's dreaming about?
And Quaithe's prophecies are obviously the only possible source regarding her enemies. That astral projection/hallucination in ADWD listed out every single source of conflict Dany will ever face in her life.
Yeah, Dany's going to just absolutely love the Starks.
The sack of King's Landing by the ones Viserys called the Usurper's dogs, the lords Lannister and Stark.
And with him stood the great lords her brother had named the Usurper's dogs, cold-eyed Eddard Stark with his frozen heart, and the golden Lannisters, father and son, so rich, so powerful, so treacherous.
"Ned Stark a traitor?" Ser Jorah snorted. "Not bloody likely. The Long Summer will come again before that one would besmirch his precious honor."
"What honor could he have?" Dany said. "He was a traitor to his true king, as were these Lannisters." It pleased her to hear that the Usurper's dogs were fighting amongst themselves, though she was unsurprised.
"Your Grace," said Jorah Mormont, "I saw King's Landing after the Sack. Babes were butchered that day as well, and old men, and children at play. More women were raped than you can count. There is a savage beast in every man, and when you hand that man a sword or spear and send him forth to war, the beast stirs. The scent of blood is all it takes to wake him. Yet I have never heard of these Unsullied raping, nor putting a city to the sword, nor even plundering, save at the express command of those who lead them. Brick they may be, as you say, but if you buy them henceforth the only dogs they'll kill are those you want dead. And you do have some dogs you want dead, as I recall."
The Usurper's dogs. "Yes."
"A house of women now. Bitter old women with a taste for blood. Women do not forget. Women do not forgive."
No, Dany thought, and the Usurper's dogs will learn that, when I return to Westeros.
“Stark was a traitor who met a traitor’s end.”
“Your Grace,” said Selmy, “Eddard Stark played a part in your father’s fall, but he bore you no ill will. When the eunuch Varys told us that you were with child, Robert wanted you killed, but Lord Stark spoke against it. Rather than countenance the murder of children, he told Robert to find himself another Hand.”
“Have you forgotten Princess Rhaenys and Prince Aegon?”
“Never. That was Lannister work, Your Grace.”
"Lannister or Stark, what difference? Viserys used to call them the Usurper's dogs. If a child is set upon by a pack of hounds, does it matter which one tears out his throat? All the dogs are just as guilty..."
I’ve put these quotes here, in bold multicolour, for no reason.
Do you think Sansa will braid Dany's hair in a Northern style for her wedding to Jon? You know, as her handmaiden?
Alright, to stop being facetious for a moment (though it is so, so hard), I do wonder why people are so insistent that everybody in the series absolutely has to be friends and get along. There’s so many POVs, so many different characters with distinct personalities and experiences. How would it be more interesting for everyone to be instant friends than for people to clash, for their histories to have weight? The Starks and the Targaryens fought against each other not even two decades ago. All the original combatants are dead, but, as we can see in the many quotes above, their children grew up hearing stories of how they were wronged. Dany scorns the Starks as the Usurper’s dogs. The Starks have heard about how their grandfather and uncle were unjustly killed by the Mad King, how their aunt was stolen away by the Dragon Prince and died far from home. They’re already biased against each other.
And maybe this could be a story about moving past the sins of the father, except Dany is literally coming to Westeros to conquer. That’s never been in debate, she views herself in the same vein as Aegon the Conqueror. He wanted all Seven Kingdoms and so does she. The living Starks’ beloved brother just fought a war for independence from the Iron Throne, a war nearly all the Northern lords wanted. Northern independence wasn’t just a cute little side plot before Dany’s triumphant return to unite the Kingdoms, it’s going to be a major issue moving forward. Dany’s most likely going to arrive after the Starks have come back into power in the North, and no one is going to be happily handing over the kingdom they just bled for without a fight. I didn’t need Quaithe to tell me that.
