Monster Boy Rot

Something not just fandom related today! I've been kind of in this weird brain triangle of the monster boys, and I wanted to draw the progression of the human to monster. Not a full on transformation sequence yet, but one day.

This one is gonna include my main character, Ed, from my story Parallels! Yeah a bit of spoilers but heck we're far from a proper reveal of it yet to make sense. But then ofc Jim because I love his troll form a lot.

*Forgot to add i gave Jim a cute lil knick in his ear that kind of looks like Daylight, and im kind of obsessed with that X3

DearestHunter (More Trolls)

yes we got more because i got used to his facial structure and monster ideas are so much fun! XD SO HERE'S WHAT WE GOT FELLAS: TrollJim still does occur after Wizards (though Wizards will take a wildly different route than canon as.... there's a lot of fixes i think need to be made... idk what but there is. And as such RotT will be fixed as well.) However he's a lot more like himself, just with the instinct of a feral dog and troll sprinkled in, topped with the existential panic of: "I can't fit in doors and why do spoons smell so good?". He does still get to wield the Excalibur amulet though. Because everyone imagine with me how cool that would look~

I imagine he's a snacker, and tends to store and hide his food for later. He's just often paranoid and walks around on all fours to feel smaller and closer to his friends. mm yeah, idk i think he's silly.

DearestHunter (size difference)

Whaaaa them art? at last? more likely than you think! I had this sketch for a bit and i've been dying to finish it. I gave Jim something akin to Draal's pants, and kind of gave Dee some more simplified snake designs.

DearestHunter (Doodles)

Wanted to do more with his adorable lil ears and body language (i imagine him very dog like) + kind of mess with the idea that he still has access to his armor and his duties. Plus some glimpses of Blinkey in this AU! I also think Blinkey would be like a girl-dad to Dee, their love of books would make them able to nerd out so much.

DearestHunter (Troll Jim)

Okay im not gonna lie, most of my brain cell surrounding Jim and Dearest is revolved around Big Troll Jim. Yeah the one after the shard gets shoved into him fully (which... i don't entirely understand that? like?? what... did that shard have that did that? idk this is something I may end up changing) Anyways, I love the concepts of him like that, and actually it's the concept art of Jim's big trollform that really pushed me to make this lil ship. I wanted to draw him less bulky and more like himself? he's just a string bean with muscles! But yeah, lots of cute monster romance ship stuff with him and Dee, and as characters they both get really out of their shell and confident... Though you'll still see them refusing to tell someone that they asked for no pickles...

+some blinkey and Arrrgh to sort of show that good comparison of troll and halftroll (no matter how big he got XD) plus... i just like drawing monsters... it's a lil guilty pleasure of mine X3

DearestHunter (Dee's Snakes)

I knowwww you guys desire the snakeyssss. I've actually had this ready for a bit but have been rotting more on Jim lately.

So in her original ref i drew for her, I drew 6 snakes, but because that's a lot I usually draw 3! Their names are War, Roe and Pie and each are named after the type of books Dee likes to read (and as such, they also love those books) War is into sci-fi and war biographies, Roe is into romantasy (the non-smutty kind, this is a sfw/fluff story) and Pie is into comic books (actually they really like children picture books too).

All the snakes have minds of their own, but will reflect Dee's emotions as well. So when Jim is around they all get very heart-eyed and cuddly with him.

But also been thinking about Dee's armor and weaponry, I think she holds like dual blades? (I've also been messing with Hero's Forge so its been a great place to concept armor)

DearestHunter... AND SLUGS?

shh no everyone get over here because i see one thing Slugterra and it SPIRALS ME. It's like finding a diamond in the rough because my feed just doesn't give me that stuff anymore. I love Slugterra so much, before Trollhunters THAT was my brainrot and my whole personality for a solid few years. I did have a BUNCH of headcanons and some plans to write a fanfic of Eli and Jim (and I think Hiccup too?? because why not just get the whole trifecta of creeturs and my feral hyperfixations?) But it kind of fizzled out, but now... im thinking about it again... I need to go back and find it but these were the premises of it: - Daylight was influenced by a light-type slug (or maybe a guardian??) imagine the sword could double as a blaster (akin to the emperor in the last season) - As we do with trollhunters RotT, we ignore whatever the hell happened in that mini series where they're looking for the omnislug or whatever it's called. - The Shanes and the Trollhunters were in cahoots in ancient times, while the Shanes were human, they also had a secret to keep. So the Slugterra humans =/= surface humans. - The Darklands and the Deep Caverns were like nextdoor neighbors but like, if the neighbors hated and mildly inconvenienced each other. - Slugs often travel to higher up caverns where trolls reside, though not too often, but they are revered and left alone - Heartstone and light water are almost the same substance, so trolls and slugs essentially run on the same energy.

im pretty darn sure there's more but this is what i can remember off the top of my head. And i will be drawing troll eli, mark my words it will happen. (can you imagine the confusion of Trollhunters Eli and Slugterra Eli both like, spiderman pointing)
