DearestHunter (Troll Jim)

Okay im not gonna lie, most of my brain cell surrounding Jim and Dearest is revolved around Big Troll Jim. Yeah the one after the shard gets shoved into him fully (which... i don't entirely understand that? like?? what... did that shard have that did that? idk this is something I may end up changing) Anyways, I love the concepts of him like that, and actually it's the concept art of Jim's big trollform that really pushed me to make this lil ship. I wanted to draw him less bulky and more like himself? he's just a string bean with muscles! But yeah, lots of cute monster romance ship stuff with him and Dee, and as characters they both get really out of their shell and confident... Though you'll still see them refusing to tell someone that they asked for no pickles...

+some blinkey and Arrrgh to sort of show that good comparison of troll and halftroll (no matter how big he got XD) plus... i just like drawing monsters... it's a lil guilty pleasure of mine X3

I like the direction of your dearestxjim story and I think they’re so cute! And I love how you drew Jim/Troll Jim and how you did him justice by giving him the neck fluff he deserves!

I just want to know, when did Dearest and jim first meet? Are they of the same age?? Or how does Claire’s passing affect everyone in this story, and how does Dearest think of this, “trollhunting” responsibility given to Jim?

Raa thank you so much! I'm so glad people are enjoying these two as much as I am X3 I have so many sketches of troll jim in the works so yesss more floof to come! Jim and Dearest are the same age, and have been going to the same school for a while now. Dearest has actually had a crush on Jim since she first met him, but never got close to him due to being pretty darn shy, so she just kind of pulls a Jim- stares affectionately from afar, in the back of class. She ends up being asked about the amulet because she's 'the kid that knows things' and that's when Jim first takes on the armor. She was there since the beginning, but really gets to end up staying because 1) witness accountability and 2) she's a gorgon, magic is already known to her so it's more to hide her own secret. But overall she's really supportive, super glad she's finally getting close to him and, as an added bonus, thinks he looks hot in armor, haha, but there's always the fear. She doesn't know a lot about trolls, but having responsibility like this can make any one worry... Claire's passing affects everyone, it's like... not quite a haunting of the narrative but it does throw a lot of things off the loop. She doesn't get into the gang as she does canonically, but continues to track down why they're being weird. Her death ends up putting the play to a halt, makes people really paranoid and causes things to get harder- for both the Hunters and their enemies. But this is really when Jim starts to feel like he's putting friends at risk, so it might end up speeding up where he goes into the Darklands by the time Killahead is retrieved. But yeah! Hopefully i'll have more sketches to show more lore, if yall have more questions feel free to ask because im literally winging this whole story XD
