13 days until Katherine Rose's birthday, her 24th. (Her first without her father since his death and her fourth without me.) I wanted to share some of the depth of her beauty/light so that you understand my grief. When I look back at these pictures I remember how she struggled. She never thought she was as beautiful as her older sister or as intelligent as her older brother. Yet, she is an incredible beauty in her own right. She's also as smart as they come, an absolute genius as well as a talented artist. She was in Mensa as a kid. Lol She's loveable, kind and a great friend to all that know her. We were so close and I miss everything about her, the important and mundane. I miss her essence. When my daughter Katie was in Peru, she rescued a street kitten. I had many Skype conversations on how to care for it. She wanted to bring it home. I discouraged it. ): She smuggled it on 18 hour bus ride through the Andes, then found a home for it. She is so much like me and I miss her terribly.
