Dear Starz,
If you even have to ask whether your daemati mate is tampering with your thoughts, the answer is probably yes. People in healthy relationships do not spend their evenings wondering if their opinions are still their own.
But if you're still not sure and want to do some detective work of your own without tipping him off, here's how to do it:
Plant a decoy thought. Next time you’re apart, picture something utterly ridiculous. For example, let's say you suddenly decide you adore the colour chartreuse and want to paint the entire bedroom that shade. If in the next few days he brings home paint swatches—ding ding ding, he's been in your head and only you can decide if he gets to stay in your bed.
Remember: having daemati powers doesn't make someone automatically evil, but it does make manipulation very easy. You do not owe anyone unrestricted access to your mind, mating bond or otherwise.
