It's not easy What we do What some of us are trying to do IT IS NOT EASY One would think it's already tasking enough to do good in a world like ours I'm learning that even shining light has a price in a world filled with darkness (any sphere of life at all) Doing good is a sacrifice that takes a sacrifice to be done ( in these times). Dear Young Leader if you're not having it easy, that's okay. Some successful leaders we look up to, unfortunately don't share enough of their struggles... it's often more of the "how to " and "what to " but there's also a part of "what used to be ", "ugly process" and more. Know this - Making a difference- will break you. It's okay to be broken, if you are called, the one who called you into service will sustain you and the vision. It's almost impossible to truly serve but it's not - learn to lean , when a shoulder comes your way and learn to ask for help when you need. Partner, Collaborate, learn , delegate and lead baby , you can. #dearyoungleader

Needy

A lot has happened since I last wrote here, long story short I've kept falling and failing, but not always - I have days when I do right and all together I believe I'm doing more good than harm. 

However, I do feel a tension- I keep being unsure - at times like this, my thoughts become harder to process, the inner voices too familiar to discern, and my choices come from impulses or sometimes absolute calm and freeze.

I am scared of ruining my own life, I fear me and my effortless ability to mess things up, I want to scream I NEED HELP! but  I am not sure who to ask, even God needs you to pay attention to what he says, but I'm paying distractions with my time, with loud songs and Hollywood philosophies.

I do need help, my friends are distant and they must be tired of hearing my mashed up thoughts, they tell me what to do and I keep failing. 

I am scared, I need help.

Dear Young Leader, (Hidden Figures- Lesson learned)

After I saw the movie ‘HIDDEN FIGURES’ I realised the subtle yet heavy role the ladies played in changing mindsets towards the black and other people who were then classified as “non-white”. They didn't do it by protesting alone, they earned that respect which was gone due to the poor cultural norms then and gained the trust of fellow citizens. You see, having worked in the corridors of power myself, I realise how a simple action or inaction by a top official or employee of the government could influence perceptions and decisions for a long term. So what was better for me than learning the roles the hard work of the women played in informing their circle (which involves their circle influencing a bigger circle and so on, yes, even up to the constitution of their locality and the world at large) ? It was realising again I AM A TRAIL BLAZER and if we are going to make room for younger individuals to function at powerful spheres, I personally have to represent the youths in the circle I find myself and prove or at least be a factor that contributes to letting the world know that youths can be and are accountable, worthy of sensitive positions, capable of making good decisions, responsible, resourceful, hardworking, intelligible, excellent and of good character. Its already begun the question is are you and I making these qualities more obvious and relatable to the young or are our actions convincing more people that “girls just wanna have fun” and “boys will be boys” Lead.
