Drew them in their 9th Anniversary outfits!
THIS IS NOT A DRILL. The author for the Death Mark mangas shared a nomination event currently going on to make a manga into an anime for the 2026 season, and I'm here to share it with you to hopefully get more votes!
The links and how to fill out the form under the cut!
yashiki trash comic because i want to actually finish drawings instead of spending literal weeks working on one drawing that absolutely could be finished in days orz
so i might do more trash comics where i don’t fuss about how i want them to look and get into . actually drawing
also i was thinking about who could possibly ask for extra sugar when buying an already super sweet drink and then he popped into my mind
this was quite fun though ヽ(▽`)ノ
Warning: Contains a little bit of Blood/Injury
(Also, just now realized I totally forgot to draw Shou in the Konoehara Academy uniform for this - Whoops! My bad....! Dx')
What could have been in the Death Mark 2 Manga but wasn't (with a little bit of humour):
Oh my, I was so focused working on a different project yesterday that I completely forgot that I actually had something to post this time... 'xD Sorry guys!! I'm glad that I finally found some inspiration to draw again, I hope you'll find it enjoyable! Again thank you all so very much for the continued support and feedback, it's always very appreciated!! <3
The inspiration for this mini-comic came from the new manga version of this series. Or rather - if I'm being honest - from what I was missing there. This is not meant as a complaint but rather an explanation what got me to draw this. I loved that we got to see a lot of Daimon and Ai during their first spirit encounter with Hanako, therefore I had been expecting (and very looking forward) to see more of Shou in the Kashima case. The scene at the cemetery is one of my personal favorites in the game because I really love the tension and drama of the situation (with Yashiki getting injured and Shou worrying about him) - it's just my cup of tea. So naturally I had been very excited to see how this scene would be portrayed in the manga. I was even kind of hoping for an improved version of what happens (that the injury just disappears as if never there in the game had actually been disappointing for me ^^'). I don't know how you guys think about this, but for me what we got instead was a real bummer. u_u'' I'm aware that some scenes/plot points of a story need to be sacrificed to fit everything into the tight structure of a manga, so I probably should have expected this, but it's still a bit saddening. That's why I comforted myself with this little comic and added a bit of humour to it! This silly idea just hit me out of nowhere, so I had to draw it to share it with you guys, haha.
This also got me thinking that it would have been a cool idea if, in the DM2 game, Yashiki gets a little bit hurt by each of the spirits he confronts - like from Hanako he got that small cut on his side (at least in the manga version), then the scissors in his arm from Kashima and perhaps a grazing shot wound from Mister Kokkuri...? So not only the mental stress increases but also the number of bandages and band-aids on Yashiki while the story continues. It would have shown even better how he's worn down more and more the longer this investigation takes, making it harder for him to go on while at the same time it increases the danger and risk of more injuries. Or mayhaps I'm just used a little bit too much to blood and injuries from the anime and manga I grew up with? Let me know what you think if you like, I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter! Do you agree that it could have been a bit more blood/injuries in the story or am I just a little bit too fixated on that? 'xD
Anyway, thank you for listening to my rambles, I hope you enjoyed this little comic! I'm always happy to hear your thoughts/opinions, so leave a comment if you feel like it! ^^ Hope you guys are alright and wishing you all a good time until next time! : )
