Encore Films, the distributor of Death Note: light up the NEW world in Singapore, has released a trailer with Chinese and English subtitles! The film will be released in Singapore on November 10th.
One of the things about the film series that bothers me is that we don’t know who takes ownership of the second death note after Light dies.
The notebook is hidden away during the final showdown. (L is holding the death note that Misa owns during this.) So ownership would instantly pass to whomever first touched the notebook after that.
And we have no idea who that is!
We only see that notebook once more, in L: change the WorLd, when L burns the notebooks. We know from the ending of The Last Name that Misa lost her memories of the death notes because L burned the notebooks, so that rule holds up in the film series and should go for the other owner as well. L doesn’t lose his memories after burning them, so it’s not him. Soichiro also remembers, so it’s not him. Matsuda and Sanami both seem to be aware of what’s been going in the Spinoff Matsuda short film, so it’s presumably neither one of them.
Which member of the task force unwittingly took ownership of the notebook and suddenly forgot all about death notes and shinigami after L burned it?!
… I’ve anticipated a lot of the hype for the new Death Note: Light up the NEW world film, but blowjob Ryuk face mask just wasn’t on the radar. (x)
The Death Note: Light up the NEW world official website had another redesign about a week ago. If you go to “About the Movie” at the bottom of the main page, it leads to a new Task Force HQ-style menu, which has some neat visuals.
Ryuk asks for your name, but if you don’t enter it, you’re just referred to as “human” (人間).
