Yea,, its for the best, what i can tell from the Very Outside (I now have a documentary to watch) the company has been hemorrhaging money for a while. Partly cause of shitty capitalism stuff, partly cause they tried to switch them to luxury (butch) cars and even before that there was the sexism attached to the 'girly' pastel ones of the 2000s. They were running a few factories in Mexico but it'd been slow going.
It just makes me sad to think that im slowly gonna go 'beep beep' less and such an, idk in my mind iconic car is gonna fade into distant memory. But that's just how the world turns and how old people have niche nostalgic interests.
This was already an interest i only shared with people 38+ (ive had GrownAssAdults who were or are in the vw fix community approach me about my tattoo, which was weird For Me cause i forget im also an adult but was like fine overall) and im already old at heart so its only fitting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
