"Donna Noble?" Death repeated, tilting her head before nodding. "Very well, I shall avoid this Donna Noble until her body gives out naturally. I'm just impressed that there are several you wanted safe."

"Yes. Donna Noble." he repeated, casting his eyes upward, eyes narrowing for a second before he licked his lips. Would he dare to? Speak out his name…? To keep him save from her too? Tilting his head a bit, he sucked in his cheeks before glancing to the side. "I am just full of surprises."

"Are you suggesting we make another deal?" Well that was interesting, nor was it entirely unexpected. "Say I don't bother a few people, of your choosing - what will you give me in return? You know I dislike granting such requests without equal payment."

He kept an eye on the other, narrowing his eyes for a second before opening his mouth to reply. Only to second thought it and shutting it without uttering a word. She was sly, that she was. Very tricky too. Was he certain he wanted to make another deal with her? In the end, it mattered little what he would choose. He would lose either way…

"What would you desire me to do in turn." he finally replied carefully, giving her a wary glance.

"You speak with such certainty, but what makes you think it's right?" she asked. Her head tilted to one side. "Not appearing to you doesn't mean I was not following you. There's a difference." She shrugged. "Take any path you like, there is plenty of blood on all of them. Your displeasure does not mean my work stops."

Staring at her for a long while, he finally found himself glancing away, biting the tip of his tongue for a second before looking over his shoulder. For once, he truly wouldn’t mind finding a path that would not be littered with the bodies of the dead. The bodies of those he had slain. People who had gotten in his way. People who had merely been in the way. People who had been in the line of fire…

Looking down, he sucked in a deep breath before closing his eyes for a second, finally looking up at her. “… So long you keep your fingers off the ones I consider priority, I can live with that…”

"Why Master, have you been entertaining notions of independence?" She tsked, shaking her head. "What a naughty boy."

"I need not to always follow your rule…" he finally breathed out,  glancing to the side for a second before looking back at her, jaws clenched. "… I desire no death unless I have knowledge of doing it myself. With my own will. Instead of yours. I am not your slave to play about with. And I will most certainly not be your tool to wreak death with any longer."

She chuckled, deep in her throat as her head tilted. "You may call me by my name, of course. Until I tell you otherwise."

"Oh I am so flattered. Ever so glad to hear I get that honour." he spoke, glancing over at her before pursing his lips for a second, rolling his shoulders and standing a bit stiffly.
