omg i'm so curious about that absolute duo thing because amazing animation in the OP but also angry because,,, ECCHI HAREM TRASH

omg, i know it looks tempting, but please don't bother because the OP  animation is nice but the actual show-animation is like. sub-par because all the detailed animation points all go into boob jiggling frames. 

But, uhh absolute duo is about a battle royale type school where people have ~soul weapons~ that damages the soul rather than the physical body.  the main character guy's weapon isn't really.. a weapon. he manifests a shield which makes him irregular.  the silver haired girl is one of those socially helpless badass moe types and they pair up (basically everyone in the school pairs up to form duos).  the girls in the show are actually lovely to each other and supportive but if only to add some male-gazey lesbian flair in the future, I think.  

nothing really makes sense?? i would recommend watching soul eater instead, since it sorta has the same premise, but it's just the better, slightly less gross anime.

Fruits Basket. My friend was obsessed and had all of the episodes on dvd and every manga. It was a beautiful friendship, really.

Hmmm gotta remember….I think Haruhi from Host Club? waaIT NO It was the little tiger girl from Fruits Basket god damn it. Her and her mute kawaii little sister role and I liked her because she was adorable and I’m the year of the tiger, too.

That’s a really good point you make abt the characters omg I couldn’t put my finger on what was bugging me

the characters were really inconsistent and only did stuff to further the plot, rather than truly having actual personalities to interact with the situation. a good example is minho, who in book 1 was described as calm, laid-back, sarcastic, and one of the most intelligent kids in the maze.

by book 3 minho was a raging ball of short-tempered violent tendencies because the author needed a 'loose cannon' character to make shitty mistakes and showcase thomas' """"leadership"""" and """""ability to take charge""""

Yeah, the second arc with the faeries didn't have a very strong transition, and the damsel in distress trope was a tad offputting (though I have some personal positives towards how they treated the d-i-d situation) so I can see how that could frustrate some, but to for so many to have such endearing hate, it seems? Idk. It's beginning to come off as bandwagon hate to me.
