First Mathias loses his wife. Then through his own selfish actions drives away his best friend and fellow alchemist. Death must have worked overtime to console Mathias in his loneliness after losing so many relationships in short time and enjoyed every moment

Ngl the more I think about it the more I think Death took a vampire sire role for Mathias. Taking care of him before he could take care of himself, providing him with blood, protecting him, guiding him... teaching him how to be a vampire. ❤️ Helping him cope and deal with his grief and anger and all the emotions that become stronger and more twisted as the vampirism takes over. ❤️ Helping him through the pain of his changing body, offering him warmth as his blood grows cold. ❤️

But while in the relationship between a vampire sire and their "child", the vampire sire is the one in power... here, it's the "child" who is being worshipped. He is the one with power, and Death is more than ready to submit. He just takes his role of raising Mathias to become the Dark Lord he is fated to be very seriously. Soon Mathias is "back to normal" again. He can think for himself, he can control himself, he does not need Death to be his sire anymore. Death can then fully embrace his position as a servant... except Mathias won't let him. Because Mathias doesn't need a servant at such a lonely time. He needs a friend. So Death quickly becomes that friend to him, a confidant, even. And yes, he enjoys every moment of the whole process. ❤️

Chances are that Death did not expect such emotional vulnerability from his new Lord... not that he expected to grow so fond of him. :) And so their friendship grew, and considering Death will try to resurrect his Lord without he himself really wanting it, and also offer him his soul two times in order to make him stronger... I think it's safe to say he became quite a bit obsessed with him. Truly the hubby of all time. ❤️

Anyway the mental image of Death consoling Mathias lives rent free in my head and I am 🥺ing very hard right now 😭 (and yeah Mathias is an absolute disaster and I love him for it ❤️)

Matthias has egos? Does he have an evil ego like Anti or Dark?

Well, not canonically, but I'm pretty sure Anti and Dark themselves were fan-made characters first before Jack and Mark realized them. I have my own fanon dark Ego for Matt who I drew ages ago (who I really need to redraw because the old art is oof.) I called him Deathias. Maybe sooner or later I'll draw him and Overkill battling it out, if anyone's interested XD

Do you think Death took on different appearances just to please Mathias? Heck, maybe appearance of an certain knight?

Short answer: Yes.

I mean Death definitely took a liking to Mathias at some point (since he will later insist on bringing him back to life because he misses his immortal "friend" too much :( ). So it's to be expected that he'd do something nice for him once in a while, out of his own free will. :) (not that he needs to change to charm Mathias, but I guess turning into a fair haired pretty boy helps a bit. <3)

Now I wonder... Can Death take the appearance of anyone, existing or not, like a succubus/incubus can? Or maybe... He can only take the appareance of dead people. In that case, you can guess the implication of him turning into Leon, one night. :)

Who are the villains in your world? Like there's Anti and Peevils and all of them, but do you have a list of all the 'bad guys' or people who are out to hurt the egos?

Welp, all the talk about Dark Egos today made me want to draw some! We’ve got Blankgameplays, Xyler, Mad!Cry, DIEpie, and Deathias. Now we pit them against each other! >:D

Nah, not really because DIEpie will win in a heartbeat.

Deathias meeting the septic egos. Reactions?

They would be very, very disconcerted by him. He’s not like Anti or Dark. He just stalks them ever so quietly and smiles, smiles, smiles...

He screams “stranger danger” and it may be the first time Chase is the one who’s most aggressive toward him, considering he’s got Robbie and Jameson to take care of. He’s not gonna like him at allll. 

Jackieboy would unfortunately underestimate him, I believe, simply because Jack hasn’t had much contact with Matthias in general, so he figures his dark Ego is just a little one who probably can’t do much damage. Marvin and Schneep wouldn’t be so sure, but they’d back him up on whatever play he made to try scaring Deathias off. Let’s hope they don’t get their butts handed to them.
