Successfully upgraded from Debian 12 Bookworm to Debian 13 Trixie without fucking up my computer. So anyway, I will be accepting job offers directly from Mr. Linux, himself, because talent like this simply cannot go unutilized.

Even though Debian 13 "Trixie" has been out for over a week, I'm still rocking Debian 12 "Bookworm" because there is no one-click update solution (that I'm aware of), and every time time I try to find out how to upgrade online, I get overwhelmed by the info and just end up like:
So idk if I can bring myself to upgrade, y'all. I just got Linux working on my MacBook again... If I mess something up–or Debian 13 breaks something–I might actually cry. 😭

my keyboard is a 87 keys us intl layout with japanese hiragana added to the keys (8bitdo fami edition), which i got on purpose as i prefer to type japanesd with the hiragana rather than using romaji.
so i installed ibus-mozc which makes it super easy to switch from english to japanese input.
however, i'm having the issue where quite a few keys don't match, some double, and some aren't there at all (notably missing is 'he' へ).
and my search engine is not being helpful is ways to get around this or chaning the key mapping completely.
(would rather have the change be in mozc rather than a new keyboard layout, as mozc has the word suggestion and hiragana to kanji words, which simple japanese keyboard layouts inputs don't)
any linux peeps have any idea? keeping in mind i'm still a noob so the lingo will mostly elude me.
