This is a really good piece and it was quite a ride for me, personally, because I am a parent with an anxiety disorder but I am also trans. So I could easily identify with Debra McGrath's feelings of fear and protectiveness for her daughter and her inability to keep her mouth from running away from her, but then I was slingshotted into the kid role as McGrath related her daughter's words and I felt an echo of how stressful that conversation must have been, and how much sheer relief Kinley likely felt when it was done.
Despite all of that, this is the line that was the hardest gut punch:
It had always been the three of us, our tight little unit, and today was no different.
Because that's my family, too. The three of us. We are a tight little unit. And it's lovely to see that arrangement is working well for other queer families.
The mother of Kinley Mochrie reflects on how early fears gave way to a sense of joy after her daughter came out as trans.

our favorite men and their favorite ladies
I think my favourite line of Ray Of Light pt 2 was "I think you're a very passionate young man" because you know it was sincere. She actually thinks that because Munro's her nephew and she's a big part of the reason he became an actor in the first place and you know she's proud of him.
So Silly!
Colin Mochrie and Debra McGrath have done it again...Found this video on YouTube and had to share. Love them :)
