You’d probably be expecting that I’d say Kaede here, but I had that twist spoiled for me long before I played V3. Assuming that the “deaths” in DR2 don’t count, since most of them didn’t stick, I’d have to say Miu Iruma. Her death caught me completely off guard, since it was one that I didn’t have spoiled for me in advance. (If DR2 does count, Ibuki Mioda falls into this category as well)

After Ouma goes “Kaito’s a loser you should be my bff instead Shuichi” and Shuichi leaves in anger, Ouma in the English translation talks about how he likes Shuichi but in the Japanese version he says he’s fallen in love with him. Maybe he didn’t mean that super seriously (particularly since afterward he talks about strangling him, if you remember that) but considering he said that while alone and not as a way to mess with anyone, I think he’s being genuine and has romantic feelings for Shuichi.

So it’s canon that he’s into boys. Just because he’s into guys doesn’t mean he can’t like girls either though, especially since the creator never said “yeah he’s ONLY into boys”. This applies to pretty much every character, even ones that are seemingly straight. Rarely do creators ever state what a character’s exact sexuality is, so you can headcanon anything.

Kokichi’s whole character is him being confusing and never meaning to say something srsly so whatever confession (including Himiko’s) isn’t 100% truthful. However since you give me the situation, the game confirmed that by chapter 4 Kokichi was aware of the existence of an audience watching the killing game so he probably says those words for them to hear it, and to forge his villain persona. Of course if you still believe he likes guys then you can do so, but personally this is how I interpret the situation.

ah, simon. can’t remember if i talked about it here before but when i was first arranging with @notasubmariner to thread using him, i jokingly referred to him as tommy wiseau and apparently R had half-panicked thinking i was serious gbhjbghj

but! simon is one of my bastards. i think he was originally made just to have a fext that was magic-borne, in foil to ondrej’s “natural”-borne process? he also seems to have taken up a lot of my remaining loki muse. this was unintentional lol

BUT hmhm, he’s kinda a good mix between satake and jamison honestly. got satake’s eccentricities and wealth (and i made it canon that they’ve worked together, it’s hell with them both in the same room), and he’s got similarities to jamison’s sociopathic tendencies. but, like jamison, he’s also not without a few connections and some amount of compassion regardless

that said HE’S A LOT OF FUN!! and it’s great to have him as a foil for ondrej, they’re both fext with a LOT of differences but they’re still best friends. i love them

Do you scare easily? I don’t really think so

Are you easily swayed by other people?I’ve always kind of gone about my life with the attitude of “what does this person want from me?” and kind of just did that to make them happy, so I guess yeah.  There are things that I won’t be swayed on though.

Oh man, that was another movie I loved seeing when it came up on TV when I was a kid. Never realized how ridiculous the Spy Kids and Sharkboy & Lavagirl movies were until I got older.
