GOOD AFTERNOON, LIKERS!!! How is #tuesday treating you?
You remember last week I said the weekend was going to be a heavy work/editing weekend. Well...it was that. I had no idea how rough work would be until yesterday when I could barely move out of bed. Thankfully an off day cuz...WOW.
Still...I not only got to another #DebutNovelFriday (which can be found at https://www.tumblr.com/someplace-that-is-else/816186395347566592/debut-novel-friday-pierce-browns-red-rising ) but yes, I did get editing done. Not as much as I would like, but it was the calm in a #crazy storm.
But since I didn't get to talk about it last week...let's talk about it now...aka time for EDITING, TYPING, AND WRITING!!!!
EDITING. Like I mentioned...I had a lot of editing to do. So much so, that I had to #choose between editing and writing time.
So editing it was. There were several short stories that I wanted to go back over due to rewrites and formatting I wanted to do. I was very happy to find time to do a lot of what I needed to have done. Special #shoutout to my clipboard for keeping me focused.
This week, I expected more of the same. There was one editing project that I really wanted to be put in something major. But...more on that later.
TYPING. The highlight has been working on my latest Debut Novel Friday post. It has had some #bumps so far, but I had been busting them out. And it's been nice to see a format form from it. Who knew that I could still do short form writing.
That said...I felt this week was going to be about catch-up. Mostly with editing. So with that in mind...there would be no Debut Novel Friday this week. Fingers crossed to get back to it though. Goodness knows I had plenty to read.
WRITING. What I was shocked about this past week? I actually got #writing time!!
It had been great to sit down in a little shop (and I had some #pictures if you want to scroll below ;) ), get a nice mocha, and put my headphones in. And from there, I just let my pencil flow.
In case you missed it, my #WiP has been approaching the finish line for a while. In fact, I was working on the last scenes. I couldn't believe it!
It has felt bittersweet. As the story slowly resolved itself, I found myself having second doubts. I've been working on this novel for months. At the same time, I wonder if I have resolved all the subplots. Am I forgetting anything? Anyone? Does that feel right for the character? I've been just...going with the flow. I've been trusting where the ending is going. I did know the ending, but the #road to getting there has been its own thing. Do I think Alicia will get her happy ending? Well...I guess you will find out soon enough.
And yes, I will have writing time this week so...YAY!!!!
That was how the week was looking. :)
