FRI, NOV 22nd 24 - The Quest

“We are not like all the rest! You can see us any day of the week…”

After a loooooong time spent wondering what I’d put on for my next post on this page, I guess all I really needed was something urgent to say.

I have it now. And my friend Vinnie (drawn up there) will help me try to convey my message.

I fear it is once again very specific but somehow still pretty global, and I do hope some of you may find a bit of themselves in those lines.

November came, and December is approaching now, and the more I am getting close to the new year, the more I too am starting to wonder how much I’ve accomplished in this one. Or, at least, if I can’t quantify it, what have I accomplished in the past 12 months?

And this is where I start to collapse; the moment I realize I might still be in the same place as then, stuck in the same horrifying position, as if some strange wizard whom I don’t even recall upsetting had thrown a curse upon me that stopped time from flowing in my body only.

And so another year has passed. “Big deal!” Vinnie says. “And so you’re feeling lonelier than before, and so you’ve been through all of those sad, sad feelings before”, he tells me, “but you’ve never been as lonely as you ever thought you were: you were there for yourself each time you felt down — and you’re absolutely all you need to get up again and go through another year. Because if you don’t — you’ll never even know this was the year you’ll leave that terrible position you’re in!”

I do believe he’s right, now. All those things I wish to do and to live someday can’t ever be if I am not there. I am the key to a better place.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring?

♣“I refuse to let Bakugou whip my ass in baking. I will pass away before I lose to someone named DynaMIGHT!”

♣“It’s not spelled that way, dammit! It’s DynaMITE!”

♣“Ok FANBOY!” 

♣Dodging the pillow that was chucked at me as I slipped into the kitchen. Rolling up my sleeve and moving my hair into a puff, grabbed the cake mix. “Y/N, can I make a cake with you?!” Momo’s eyes seemed to sparkle as she walked into the kitchen, forgetting what she originally planned to do. “You don't have to.” She walked towards me, already grabbing an apron, grabbed the bowl from where I couldn't reach.

♣“I really want to.”

♣“I’ll help too.” Jirou walked into the kitchen with a small smile. Looking between the two girls, before nodding. “Alright.” Momo’s smiled widened as she made matching aprons while I and Jirou got out the needed utensils. “Y/N, you need help to make a cake. How sad.” Hearing Bakugou laugh, I glared at him. 

♣“Ok DynaMIGHT! I would just shut up with that fanboy name.” Watching him get upset and start yelling, just as Jirou started playing music and increased the volume over his voice. 

♣“Here you go.” Moving closer to me and talking in my ear as she put my apron on. Jirou watched in silence, a blush creeping across her face as she turned down the music and twiddled with her ears. Momo pulled away, her smile widening, seeming proud of her creation. “You're so attractive.” Feeling my face heat up, I turned it to the side, trying to stop my flustered smile. Hearing a soft catcall, I turned to Jirou, trying to glare at her.

♣“Jirou, you're also beautiful.” Laughing at her as her face exploded in red as Momo put on her apron, she crossed her arms. “Cake! We should make the cake.” Reading the instructions, glancing at the ingredients, I moved over to her and rested my chin on her shoulder, reading the instructions. Momo placing a hand on her lower back as she peered over. 

♣“Can you read it? I can't see it so well.” Muttering, Momo agreed as we both leaned closer. Stuttering over her words, before completely dropping the box. “Too attractive.” Hearing Jirou speak in a low voice, “What did you say?” Jirou quickly turned around, her face dark red. Making us both step back. 

♣“Attractive. Y’all are attractive!”

♣“Kyouka, are you flustered?” Watching her speaking coherently as Momo purposely flustered her. A soft sigh leaving my mouth. 

Who was I to say no to my girlfriends when they asked to help me bake a cake?
