1. As a Trekkie, I could just go and name 3 Star Trek shows haha but I'll pick one: Voyager. I love the stories, the characters, the silliness, the seriousness, the loneliness, and the connections between the characters. Although I have some thoughts about how they eventually wrapped things up, it remains my favorite Star Trek series! <3
2. One Piece, the Netflix series. This one has a funny backstory: years ago I had a colleague who was super fond of One Piece the anime and insisted that I watched it. So I did! But after twenty episodes or so, I just couldn't get into it. And he said, trust me it's gonna get SO GOOD you don't understand, watch another 20, or 40 episodes! And I was like, bruh. I'm not gonna do that lol. BUT WHAT THE NETFLIX SERIES HAS TAUGHT ME, IS THAT MY COLLEAGUE WAS RIGHT! The story is excellent. And the live action has great set design, amazing casting, and they capture that anime feeling while doing it within the bounds of live action. That is so hard to do. I love the colorful, optimistic tone of the series while it also has some real gore. I remembering it being promoted here on Tumblr and I was like ugh I don't want to be spammed! But after watching it I am a fan, a big fan at that!!
3. Extraordinary attorney Woo, I was pleasantly surprised how well this series handles a story about a brilliant young attorney with Autism and is able to have true comedy moments where you laugh with her, not at her. It also has serious moments, as she faces different levels of discrimination at work, as well as heartfelt, beautiful moments and a very cute romance.
And finally, I have to admit that I don't like many series. Even though I watched so many lol. I have to give this runner up to a playthrough of a game that me and my partner watched like it was a series and we had SO much fun, we still reference it like daily, like years later lol. And that playthrough is Contradiction played by Jesse Cox and Dodger!
I can get into any genre of media but I do need a good story and strong characters.
I fell out of love w almost all series I've ever watched that have more than two seasons x3 especially looking at Lost, Game of Thrones and The Vampire Diaries, even though it was never a 'good' show lolol.
