the initial urge to ask back 'what does it look like i'm doing' comes and goes in the blink of an eye but the way he's got his tongue halfway out should have indicated exactly what it was he was partaking in. ❝ n... othing? ❞ was all he could really say, knowing it's hardly convincing to the person who's watched him this whole time.

there is a knock on his hotel door, and it causes jason to jolt in a way that is uncharacteristic for a man that has prepared himself for anything. a guest is simply not one of them, not when he is so far from where he had been, not when there is only a very limited of people that know where he is, and neither of them would show up unannounced. neither has he ordered room service and he does not nearly make enough noise for there to be a complaint called in against him. so he is slow to rise, feet dragging across the floor and shoulders squared as he approaches the door and opens it with caution, hand at the ready to grab the gun that always is within an arm's reach.

"i'm not going out of my way! i just wanted to be sure that we were on the same page," faye insisted, arms crossing over her chest. her jaw dropped for a moment before she quickly composed herself.
