After spending weeks screaming at one another about Gideon the Ninth, @decalexas and I decided we wanted a place to scream at others about Gideon the Ninth, so here it is: The Locked Tomb, an informal discord server dedicated to Tamsyn Muir’s the Locked Tomb Trilogy/Gideon the Ninth. 

This is a super relaxed server that anyone is welcome to join, but please read the rules, and know that this server is NOT spoiler free! If you’re still reading the book, maybe not the best place for you at the moment. Other than that, the link is open, but again -- please read the rules and be respectful!

Oh gosh, thirsty for her??? Queen of the North, Daughter of Wolves, THIRSTY for this spiteful, rebellious southern girl??? Maybe not thirsty, but god is she intrigued. This girl that she essentially picked from a pack of cards, the queen of diamonds plucked straight from the deck of the south with barely a cursory glance but for her position- the only daughter of one of the most powerful houses in the south, a valuable chess piece to have in her possession. She expected a retiring, weak girl and instead she got a woman who suckled at the teat of deceit and was nursed by court whispers, a woman who learnt that she could forever blind people with a harmless smile and a lilting laugh, so that she could slip a dagger between their ribs. So when Clarke takes to wandering off without her guard- the north is a dangerous place for a southern girl at the point, luckily Octavia Snow is on hand to help- and expressing her displeasure at being there by essentially flaunting every rule that Lexa has, she finds that more of her attention is taken up by this girl than she expected.

“Your Majesty,” Lady Clarke, as she has every other time they have encountered one another, drops into the smallest curtsey she can imagine, her eyes burning with resentment when she looks up at Lexa. “You are an impressive fighter.” “Thank you,” She accepts the compliment gracefully, and glances behind Clarke in almost a pantomime. “I see that Octavia Snow is not with you.” “Oh,” Clarke’s eyes widen almost comically and her voice is so falsely sweet when she too glances over her shoulder, that Lexa almost laughs. “Is she not? How careless of me to lose her.”

does anya play a role in gotau? and will lexa still be a nightblood? i’m a game of thrones (more so the books) nerd and i’m so excited about this

oh yes, I love anya so I always try to get her into fics if I can. Anya, formerly of House Mormont, gave up her lands and title to become the leader of the Queensguard when Lexa was crowned Queen. The moment she heard her tiny cousin, with arms so thin they could snap like a twig and big, serious eyes, was becoming the Queen in the North, she informed her father- the former Lord Mormont- that she was leaving and stole a horse to ride to Lexa’s side. She has been with her since then as her sworn protector and advisor. 

We haven’t incorporated nightblood into the story, but maybe that was something the old people of the north were rumored to be, and due to her connection with magic and the old north, whispers say that Lexa bleeds black on the battlefield.
