♦️just found out about an updated part of the script to maybe my favorite* part in all of decay route (so far) (the school flashback) and i dont even got it in me to infodump about it to anyone im sposed to be in bed rn but aaaaaaa i love this game.

i rly appreciate how much generally is left unspoken for the reader to make realizations on their own. but equally i love when the pretenses are dropped and it just says what its trying to say bcuz some people cant take a hint.

The Decay route is living in our head rent-free

Decided to check out the TCOAAL tag to try to do something about that

Sorry to generalize but it feels like we're the only people who actually understand what's going on in this story

We didn't expect so many people to be obsessively arguing over an optional route that likely won't be followed up on to determine "which of the siblings deserves more blame?"

as though somehow everyone just forgot the entire premise is about toxic co-dependency. Emphasis on the co-.

When we (relevantly, a past victim) and our partner played through Shots & Such together blinf, when we got to That Scene™️, we turned to her and said in awe something along the lines of "I can't tell who's abusing who in this fucked power dynamic right now" recognizing fully well that's the point. They're both the problem, both awful people, and both managing to harm each other and themselves at the same time in a deep, irreversible way. Neither of them are happy about it. Neither of them wanted it.

And that's interesting to observe. That's (supposedly) why we're all here.

Anyone trying to pit them against each other to assign all blame onto one / off the other has just *completely* lost the thread, assuming they ever had it.

If you're not here to understand some of the deeper depths of the Human Condition, what are you even doing here?

I can't see the logic when people claim that things would have been better if Andrew had done something (kissed Ashley, accepting her ''''confession'''') after his wet dream of her, like wouldn't that just messed everything more up????

the more time passes and more content is released for this game the more i'm increasingly convinced of something i've expected since november 2023: the entire fandom outside of tumblr are huge pussies, i think.

we are like. actually the only ones fucking reveling in the decay route from what i've seen. like, there's definitely people still kind of distressed by it (and even i am just a little bit) but like... idk, there's certainly a different attitude here than everywhere else.
