Old floor out, new floor in. This was a floor on top of a floor. Originally this had York stone flags on top of the timbers which incidentally are treated railway sleepers installed when the houses were built in 1900. The dividing wall is built on the sleepers as are the stone steps. Water has been leaking in for decades and the sleepers around the door were severely decayed.
