Austin cannot really understand what is going on right now, but he knows something is wrong. So, despite the pain, he does his best to bite his tongue and just hold onto the other, whatever form they may be in. It doesn’t have to make sense to him, it is real for them.
“It’s okay. I’m not going anywhere.” He promises, hoping that it helps. Maybe he’s doing the wrong thing, maybe they need space but… he had always wanted someone to simply be there. So that’s what he’ll do.
