Em notices the staring, and xe can't help but feel a little bashful. Xe vaguely remembers being human, and how no human had ever looked at xer the way this stranger is now. Full of... awe. Em would be blushing if that were still possible.
It's xer turn to stare as the stranger eats the object. Em tries to put the food into her mouth, except... there is no mouth. Xe makes a few more attempts before finally remembering how trees get their nutrients. With that, Em throws it at xer feet roots, and soon the apple has been buried underground so that it can break down enough for xer to enjoy.
Em then shakes xer upper branches, and down comes a strange wild fruit, yellow and perfectly ripe. Sure, Em had consumed it and then been consumed by the tree, but Em wouldn't let that happen to this kind human. The malevolent spirit of the tree had withered and died with Em as its prisoner for so long.
Forrest almost fears that he has ruined the interaction, given xer something xe can’t enjoy. But then, roots are breaking the apple up, and he feels as if he’s witnessed some sort of a miracle. The being in front of him is one, he’s certain of it. Maybe a monster to plenty, but beautiful to him.
“For me?” He points to himself, not wanting to even touch the fruit without the proper permission. After all, he has seen the way that trees are often treated by people. Has it been the same for xer?
He doesn’t want it to be.

there is something about the white-hot fire in the girl's eyes which charms him, something in her blistering hostility that reminds DIO of himself when he was but a hot-tempered boy. he can smell it on her, the fire — a rank stench of boiling blood upon burned fingertips. how intriguing. he knows of a man with similar abilities, a powerful stand user by the name of muhammad avdol who narrowly escaped his clutches. the loss of a potential ally vexes him still, far more so than the useless servant lying dead at their feet. but it shall trouble him no longer, should this diminutive little killer prove herself to be as promising as he suspects.
❝ there is more to you than what meets the eye, isn't there? ❞ he draws forth from the shadows, regarding her with narrowed eyes and a surreptitious smile. ❝ i will tell you who i am, if you would first indulge my curiosity. ❞
there is some sort of feeling like she should recognize the man in front of her. not that he’s famous, but there is a certain confidence he carries that only comes with power. a lot of it. part of her wants to jump, wants to attack like a wild animal, but she doesn’t. it’s rare that rain takes a moment to really think, but she has to, now.
“sure. i make fire. i’m guessing you saw that fight.” did he allow it, even? she has no long he’s been here, but the thought scares her a bit. “what about it?”
so tired of my boss being mean at work so I’m gonna try and talk to some ppl :/// confrontation scary!

louie’s very own starter call! || @bykacie !
The castaways don’t usually have much on them when they arrive; visiting an unknown alien planet unprepared is half the reason they’re castaways in the first place. Louie usually just checks their suits for a Hocotate Freight logo and leaves them where they are when he confirms they’re not Olimar. They’re asleep, boring, and not worth his time.
…but this one is different. They’ve got a whole campsite to themself, complete with supply pack. Definitely worth a look.
“Mm. Mhm.” He’s sitting in the middle of a crime scene, the contents of the stranger’s bag scattered in a circle around him. He’s already broken into the snacks. The rest of the pack’s contents are undergoing a thorough evaluation:
Weird alien coins. Toss.
Laptop. Toss— what’s he going to do with that, check emails from the President?
Clothes. Toss.
Mysterious mini device. Keep………?
He’s idly pressing buttons on the unfamiliar machine, granola bar held between his teeth, when he thinks he hears rustling in the undergrowth nearby. The noise is too soft to be anything dangerous, so he ignores it until he finally happens to glance up—
And finds himself staring at the castaway themself.
Nadine was not the kind of person to typically run off without their bag, but they hadn’t meant to go very far. They had seen something the night before, and had meant to slip out in the morning, get a quick glance at the thing, and come back.
It was interesting, actually, how many of the giant objects they seemed to recognize. Something they could talk to Olimar about at some point, maybe. Would he be interested? No idea, but he was kind of the only person to talk to.
(Or so they thought!)
They hear someone at their campsite, and decide to sneak up to get an idea of what’s going on. Until the moment that they see someone messing with their bag.
“Hey! Stop that shit!”
And not only do they run at him, they launch themself at him.
sender and receiver break into the abandoned mill for fun.
@aston1sh1ng
They are not the first people to break in here, and that’s what makes it so incredibly interesting. The first thing that Rain sees is paint across various walls, signatures and drawings and just little scribbles. Whether or not it has meaning doesn’t really matter to her, just the fact that someone had left a mark. A mark that could be considered beautiful, even.
“Do you come out here a lot?” It had been his suggestion, after all. She’s already walking around, being careful enough but not nearly as careful as she should be. There’s just too much to see, too much to choose from.
sender bails receiver out of jail.
@aston1sh1ng
“Is this the part where you tell me not to get caught next time?”
Neither of them have said anything about it yet. The fire, the fact that Rain could have been in a lot more trouble had he not helped to cover it up, and everything else that had gone on. He’d seen her powers, and the police had gotten in the way of the two of them having a conversation about it.
“…Thanks.” Though, maybe they’re even, now. She had only started a fire to try and help him.
Sender drags ice cubes over receiver’s skin (versin-surfin, Lee for Rain)
@versin-surfin
The ice cubes don’t stand a chance. Even bringing them close to Rain is enough to get them melting, but once they make contact with her skin? It’s turned to water in an instant. It makes her laugh, actually, just how fragile it is next to her. She was barely even able to feel the cold.
“I appreciate the attempt, but anything like that’s just gonna… well, you saw. It makes eating ice cream really annoying.” Though she really just tends not to do that.

sender bails receiver out of jail. (for Nadine or Austin)
@hearsthephone
“Okay, I know beggars can’t be choosers and all that shit, but like… how the fuck did you get the money to bail me out?”
Nadine hadn’t even done anything this time around, other than… well, be themself. Say you’re from the future to the wrong person, and soon you’re being picked up by cops who think you’re on drugs. And yeah, Nadine had been high on weed, but that wasn’t the accusation. And it didn’t make time traveling any less true.
“Or did they beg you to get rid of me. I think most of them were a little afraid of me. Stupid fuckin’ cops.”
Not book smart or street smart but a secret third thing.

“whenever i ignore my instincts, i end up regretting it. what about you?” from Sarah to Rain
@genrcsavvy
“My instincts aren’t usually worth shit around here.” Though she doesn’t specify where here is. It’s the world at large, really. Her instincts come from such a specific environment that has never really existed once leaving it, and it has left Rain… aimless. Her instincts save her in a fight to the death, but no one is doing that out here.
“If I listened to my instincts, I’d never speak to another person in my life, actually. And I think that’s probably a bad thing. Or like, I’d at least be lonely as shit. So I dunno. I wish I could trust them.”
I’m gonna try to do some replies but today is gonna be a weird-ish day at work so if nothing is accomplished that is why!
