Tbh I thought my decdonna stuff was only gonna be a hit with ash (@myloveforhergoeson) cause she made Declan but I'm so glad you like it!
I could go out on a limb and say theyre thirty somethings trying to be "normal" again, or well, in Declan's case he's trying to broaden his social circle so its not just Roxy (whom he would move heaven and earth for) but for Donna its more so her expiriencing a crush for the first time honestly.
She's embarassed about it, and she wants to go slow. She doesn't want to freak Declan out or chase him off. She feels a lot of shame. But at the same time she shamelessly flirts with him and Roxy finds it amusing. Then Roxy pushes for them because shes never seen anyone interested in her dad. She doesn't want her dad to go back to Minnesota alone. Ofc he will, but then he'll have someone else to wait for by the phone.
(Tbh I'm being very vague with like the romance bit, because Declan is someone elses oc) but you could interperet that as them being super awkward adults trying to figure out whats okay to do or what the other can handle.
