Deceit Name Theories
I've seen a lot of theories about Deceit's name, and I I decided to put my own ideas out there. Here is a list of what I think his name might/should be, in order of what I think are the best to worst options.
Dorian
The literary reference to Oscar Wilde seems to fit
It's a great name for a dramatic gay
It's my personal favorite for him and it suits the character
Horace
Patton being dressed like Atticus Finch in the court scene
The drak sides all having names with Roman roots
The poets Horace and Virgil having been friends
Cons: it doesn't seem to fit him very well
Damien
Seems to be the current fan favorite
Goes well with all the other names fairly well
Not as good as Dorian (fight me)
No real name
Either he never tells his name, he gives a different one every time he's asked or he has a super long dramatic name and he tells them that going by his function is better than his name
Fits the extra boi very well
Feels kind of evasive, which goes with his deceptive function.
Makes for an adorable and hilarious running gag, and ample nick name potential, especially from Roman
Ethan
Goes along with the idea of Roman, Patton and Logans names (Roman-romantic, Patton-pathos, Logan-logos, Ethan-ethos/ethics)
Dante/Dolos
Roman rooted names that start with D. Weak argument, but I like them
