Saruhiko / Eric.
Slightly sadistic ending..?
Turn the corner, keep running. Take the next left, keep running. Saruhiko silently commanded for his legs to keep up with the speed of his derailed train of thoughts, eyes following the messy splattered trails of blood blots and footsteps left running down the insane connection of alleyways. Were the skies in this part of town always this dark, cloudy, and depressing? He didn’t know. He couldn’t care less right now. Clutched in the death grip of his fist was Eric’s hoodie, ripped apart at its zipper and abandoned at his doorstep, an invitation to the confrontation. How much of his pet’s blood has his enemies spilled? Saruhiko couldn’t stop to think about it right now. All he knew was they were all quite already dead in his eyes; The moment he caught up with them, he’d rip apart their throats, slice cleanly at their veins..
For each drop of blood of his pet’s they’ve dared to spill, he’d force them to vomit out ten times the amount, in payment.
Take the next alleyway, keep running.. His train of thoughts never stopped, racing past his leg’s physical limits and drumming past his heart’s erratic beat. Finally, the buildings around him started to show signs of loosening up to give the swordsman more breathing space.. but his feet never slowed. He didn’t understand. Who were these bastards, and what did they want with him? Never once did Saruhiko stop to consider that the grudge might not be directed at him, but the swordsman had long believed he had since then settled his pet’s troubling ownership issues. They should’ve been able to move on from that point, from that time onwards.. So why, why, why did this nonsense have to occur now?
Take a sharp turn, and Saruhiko almost stumbled as he was thrown into a brightly lit corner. A dead end. The buildings around him stood more than 5 storeys high, tall and suffocating, and Saruhiko thought for a moment that he had taken a wrong turn. But no, he knew, because the bloodied trail beneath his feet would not lie.. As his eyes slowly scanned the alley lined with dumpsters and abandoned furniture, lit brightly by a streetlamp that seemed extremely out of place, standing alone in this abandoned area of town.. His gaze slowly fell on a single, crumpled, wasted figure, tossed abandoned in one corner.
Disbelief was a sharp pang biting at every fibre of the swordsman’s trembling body. The steps he painfully took were slow and hesitant, but at last, he brought himself to a kneel by his pet’s side. It was all too easy to scoop Eric’s broken frame into his arms, but Saruhiko’s heart almost leapt out of his throat when he heard the faint breathing from his pet’s mouth as he was once again stirred. He had not lost Eric, his pet was still clinging onto dear life by a thread.. Immediately digging for his PDA, the device was held to his ears within seconds, his lips moving in panic to scream out orders of hailing an ambulance, a car, fucking Captain Munakata, anything..
But a bloodied hand reached out for Saruhiko face, stunning the brunette’s mind and pulling his gaze to lock with Eric’s faltering ones. Fingertips, cold as the night, brushed lightly against his lips, and Saruhiko dropped his PDA with a noisy clatter. “Eric!” The name left his tongue in a hollow whisper. “Shh, help will be here soon, stay with me, Eric-“
“… S-saru..”
His pet’s use of his name brought a fresh wave of anger crashing through his vein. Locking their lips in a fierce kiss, Saruhiko cried in a strangled voice into the younger boy’s mouth, tasting the bitter taste of copper from those pallid lips.. When he pulled back with a trembling moan, Eric was smiling, barely able to lift his eyes open anymore.
“Eric! Damn you, stay with m-“
”.. Saru..”
Those heavy eyelids lifted with great difficulty, and all Saruhiko wanted to do was to punch a wall, the floor, anything.. He wanted Eric to stop, damn it, so that he could hold on till the fucking ambulance arrived. But his pet was never the completely obedient one.. As Eric’s weirdly blanked-out brown irises met Saruhiko’s glaring, cerulean ones, the swordsman thought he heard his pet give a soft sigh of happiness.
“M-master.. S-s-smile for me..”
With great difficulty, Saruhiko managed to twitch the corners of his lips up, resisting with all his might the need to slap his little pet. He could almost hear the ambulance now, wailing in the distance, louder and louder with every synchronized beat of their hearts. Just a little more.. If Eric was happy, he could hold on for a little longer, Saruhiko believed.. So he would smile, as crazy as it was, he would smile with all the tears running down his face.. Fucking pet. All the fucking nonsense he’s saying, fucking slipping away without his permission.. Fucking.. Hell..
“H-Ha..”
How undignified of him. Eric seems to agree..
The blue clansman could hear the sharp screech of breaks against tar now, and Captain Munakata’s voice was like an angel’s from a distance. The ambulance is here. Help is here. Eric will be fine, they’ll patch him up in no time..
“S-saru.. I’m.. G-glad..”
Something in his little pet’s voice churned his stomach, and Saruhiko could feel the blood in his veins slowing, dying, till they ran cold..
“H-humour m-me..”
And as Eric finally fell asleep, for forever, in Saruhiko’s arms.. The swordsman collapsed, dissolving with a deranged howl that tore through the night. Reportedly, it had been a sound so broken and sharp, it could not have been human.. It took Munakata and three more others to rip the pet’s limp body from his master’s arms, and when they finally managed, Saruhiko had thrown himself away into a blind rage. Reportedly.. Munakata had had to silence his third-in-command with a back hand to the younger boy’s neck.
It took Scepter 4 one entire month later to locate Saruhiko again, after he had escaped from their detention.. By then, every alleyway in Shizume city have been painted with crimson, splashed in the blood of Saruhiko’s hatred and revenge.

“….” These were faces that she did not recognize other than Misaki. Their reds were a foreign, strange shade compared to those she were surrounded by often. “…Pretty.” She murmured softly.“……”
Okay, this definitely wasn’t worth the trouble it was to go get a random kitten off the streets. All animals hated his guts and the stupid scratches he got on his hands were stinging like crazy, but if he actually had a choice not to do it, then he wouldn’t be handing off a grey cat to the one that deemed himself a dog. “Here. —Tch.” And he’s off to go clean those wounds because claws hurt, actually.
Saruhiko looked at the blond, without really say anything. Wasn't he one of the Homra's clansmen? One who joined them after his betrayal, if he wasn't wrong.
Anna gave a long, considering stare to the people entering--much longer than normal, almost like she was seeing something in particular when she looked straight through them. Then she made a small hum and turned back to her juice.
